Turbulence wakes you from your slumber. You groggily open your eyes as the plane shakes, forcing you to squeeze Squirtle harder. The seatbelt sign above you blinks on with a light binging noise, indicating you to put on the dirty strap around your waist. You scowl as you click the seatbelt on. The sound of innocent snoring makes you pivot your head in its direction.

You see Eli's headphones wrapped around his neck, almost looking like it's about to choke him, and his long, nail-bitten fingers resting on the keys of his laptop. A game could be seen from his screen, reflecting off the seats because the plane's lights are off to let passengers somehow get a peaceful nap. His head is tilted to the right as he quietly sleeps. His hazelnut-colored hair shielding one of his eyes, making him itch his nose once and a while. You feel awkward that you're watching him sleep, so, you decide to go back to your two-hour hibernation. You give the turbulence a mean growl before dosing off into Dream Land.

"Wake up," a soft voice demands as you feel a tiny push on your cheek.

You turn around so that your back faces the annoyance and attempt to fall back asleep.

You feel another tiny push, but on your back. "Wake up," the voice repeats, this time a little more strict.

"No," you reply as you squeeze Squirtle harder.

The force moves closer and closer to your ear until you can literally feel its every hot breath.

"WAKE UP!" it screams.

You jolt up and find Eli dying of hysterical laughter, slapping his leg every time he wheezes. You cross you arms, unamused.

"Ha ha," you sarcastically say as you sit right up in your seat.

"Ha ha indeed," he confirms as he wipes a tear from his eye. "That was too good."

You punch him in the arm in retaliation.

"Ow!" he rubs his arm.

"You deserved that, weirdo," you say as you open the window blind next to you and look out.

A morning sunrise greets you, making you feel warm inside. Hues of pink, purple, yellow, and orange make your eyes tear up from its natural beauty. Puffs of cotton-candy clouds dot the sky, creating a painting-like feeling to the atmosphere. Eli looks past your shoulder and sees the view.

"Wow," he nods his head in approval. "Nice."

"Nice?" you ask in disbelief as you point to the window. "It's gorgeous, Eli."

He pauses, then mischievously grins. "Just like me."

You shoot a look of disgust. "Oh, please."

"You're just jealous that I'm prettier than you," he flexes his muscles.

You raise an eyebrow and that immediately makes him apologize.

A flight attendant comes by the two of your seats pushing a large cart. Eli asks when the plane will be landing.

"In about ten minutes," she answers as she grabs two hand-sized packets from the bottom of the metal cart. She holds them in front of you and Eli. "Hot towel?"

Before you two can answer, the flight attendant plops the packets on your laps and moves on whilst still pushing the pushcart.

You slowly remove the wrapper and reveal a damp, warm towel. You rub your face in the comforting warmness, then toss the wrapper and towel in your backpack, which was below the seat in front of you.

Eli puts his in his backpack, along with his laptop, headphones, and beanie. He sloppily fixes his hair and whips out his phone. He taps the YouTube app and starts watching a red-haired, jolly, cute guy named...
