"Can someone please tell me what's going on?" Tim questions, confused, as Max tries to pry your long arms off of him after a long, rewarding embrace.

"Well-" you start.

"Yeah, how do you know him?" Eli joins in as he crosses his arms, demanding an answer.

"I was about to-"

"I have no idea what's going on!" Ross screams as he ruffles his hair.

"Shut up!" Max squeals as he slams his palm on the wooden coffee table, which makes everyone immediately zip their lips.

Max takes a deep breath before pivoting his head in your direction and gleaming a bright smile. "Go ahead, Button."

"Well," you continue, ignoring the fact that he called you the hated nickname. "Maxy and I were classmates during-"

Max loudly clears his throat as he puts his hands behind his back.

"I mean - Maxy and I were best friends during elementary school and half of middle school before I moved away to Cali," you explain.

You look at Max, silently asking him if you properly said it this time and he responded by nodding his head in approval.

"That makes a lot of sense," Tim dumbly notes before looking at the redhead with a confused look. "Wait, Max?"

"Hm?"

"You never mentioned (Y/N)," Tim announces as he points to you. "Like, ever."

You raise an eyebrow and start tapping your left foot. "Is that so?"

Ross sneakily grins. "Yeah. Not one thing."

"Heh," Max nervously chuckles as he notices your foot tapping. "Well, it's been such a long time and we lost contact with each other so..."

"That is true," you nod your head in agreement.

"It is," Max says as he swiftly kicks Ross in the leg next to him.

"Ow!"

"Good, he's in pain," Max says as he moves to the kitchen. "Has anyone seen my corn dogs?"

"Oh yeah," you vocalize as you remember a memory. "You used to love corndogs when we were a kid."

"Still do," he says as he observes the freezer.

"The only difference is that you're a grown adult," you examine him for a second. "Maybe a little kid trapped in an adult's body?"

"Ha ha."

Eli rolls his eyes. "So, is this where we're gonna stay, huh? I have to deal with sarcastic comments and flirty conversations between two little kids for the next few months."

"Hey!" You and Max yell at the exact same time.

"I don't blame him," Ross defensively says. "You guys are acting like twelve year-olds trying to get a date to the movies."

Tim chuckles.

"Laugh it up, thumb boy," Max warns. "Anyways, Ross, since you were the one who brought these people here, you show them where they're gonna stay."

"Where are they gonna stay?" Tim chimes in. "We don't have enough rooms for guests and the couch only fits one person. So, one of you have to sleep with us until we find a better solution, unfortunately."
