Xavier's POV

My mate was perfect. She was so beautiful, almost like an angel from the sky. The moment I saw her in the hallway I knew she was mine. When I entered the school hallway, I was hit with the amazing smell of sweetness. I scanned the whole hallway until my eyes laid on a blonde beauty. She was staring at me as well. Her green eyes were bright and hypnotizing.

I knew instantly that she was human. The paleness of her skin was one dead give away and also she did not have the smell of a werewolf. She smelled like sweet strawberries which may be one of the reasons I was always craving them. Human mates were not very common, but they can happen. Humans don't feel the bond as strongly as werewolves do until they have been marked. However, randomly marking your mate without consent was highly frown upon. Throwing them into the world of werewolves improperly could cause them to panic and lead to rejection.

I never had time to look for a mate. I became Alpha of the Red Moon Pack when I was only 20. I was determined to be one of the strongest packs. Five years later, I have reached my goal and am looking to expand my pack to gain more power. The reason why we came to Riverbridge was to settle up the pack here. I began construction on housing two years ago in a subdivision deep in the woods. The principle was a member of my pack that I sent to the local high school to become acquainted with it and to smooth the transition for my younger pack members into school. I had never expected to find my mate so soon, especially while I wasn't looking.

My pack members were soon greeted by a friendly human who said something about being Stacey. I wasn't paying much attention as my eyes were following my mates who was in someone else's arms. The sight of another male touching my mate infuriated me and I struggled not to threateningly growl at the sight. Jealousy was something ever wolf struggled with, but as alpha they were heightened so possessiveness and jealousy was a lot worse. My mate soon disappeared from my site heading to her class.

"Alpha is something the matter?" asked the principle. My pack was starring at me as they heard me growl when that low life male touched my mate.

"Mate," I struggled to say as my teeth gritted together in anger. My pack members seemed all of sudden delighted.

"That's great!" Michael said, he was my beta; second in charge. He was young, but he was my best fighter and a quick learner, "Which one is she?"

It is very normal for wolves to be curious about their Luna. They have the natural instinct to protect their leaders and follow them. Although she wasn't Luna yet, she would be one day.

"She's right there," I said pointing to her.

Michael instantly followed my finger to see my mate.

"Wow, she's h-" He began to say before I warned him.

"I wouldn't finish that if I was you," he got the memo quick and didn't finish his words.

My young pack members headed off to their classes while the principle and I continued to finish up any paperwork. The principle had been living here for over 3 years so she was filling me in on the locals. But only one local interest me.

"Tell me about that girl in the hallway," I said to the principle while we were sitting in her office.

"Your mate?" She asked. I nodded my head. I wanted to know everything about her.

"Let's see," she said typing on the computer, "That is Clara Young. She is a senior. She just turned 18 about a week ago. She is a cheerleader.  She is a very sweet girl. I had a talk with her about what she wanted to be and she said a nurse because she wanted to help others."
