Xavier's POV

I was fuming. My wolf was second from taking over. My beta's hand grabbed a hold of my shoulder.

"Alpha," he said turning his attention over to my bloody hand. I didn't care about the glass stuck in my hand. I had let my wolf take control. Clara gave me no choice. I would never let my mate reject me. My pack needed a Luna. I needed my mate.

"How did she know about rejecting you?" Michael asked and I looked at him quite surprised. It wasn't somethings humans knew.

"I have no idea," all of a sudden Ed appeared.

"Is everything okay, Alpha?" he bowed his head in respect.

"Go follow your Luna and make sure she gets home safe." I said as I plucked the glass out from my hand.

Ed nodded his head and ran to the woods before transforming.

"I really fucked up this time," I said looking at Michael who held a weary smile.

"You can't change what's already been done," Michael said, "You acted on instinct."

Michael was right, but I knew gaining Clara's trust and affections was going to be a real challenge now. But hopefully the bond would grow stronger between us.

I made my way back to the pack community. We lived in a gated community with acres of land. It was safe from any humans. We could be ourselves behind these walls. My house was silent. I sighed. I desperately wanted my mate to be with me. My wolf was lonely and anger. He wanted me to turn around and go get her. I told him I will talk to Clara tomorrow and sort things out.

I went to my bed and collapsed on top of it. My face met the pillow that Clara slept on. I took a deep breathe. Her scent was so alluring.

Alpha! Ed's voice rang in my head. His voice was filled with panic. Rogue by Luna's house!

I quickly got up and sprinted out the house. My wolf instantly took over. I ran with all my might until I made it outside of Clara's house. Ten of my pack warriors were searching for the rogue. I found Ed's wolf body covered in blood.

He's strong, Alpha, Ed's voice was growing weak.

Rest, the pack doctor will be here soon. I took in the surroundings. The rogue was close to my mate's house. Less than a mile.

Find that Rogue, I want him dead or alive, I left Ed and followed the Rogue scent. The scent vanished in the woods. My wolf growled in frustration.

Alpha, please go rest, a warriors voice rang in my head and I growled threateningly. It shut him up quick.

I spent all night searching for the rogue. I would do anything to protect my mate.

The sun was rising and although I could search longer. The rogue was long gone.

Alpha, Michael voice caught my attention. I headed over to Clara's house. Michael waited outside in human form. He leaned against his car.

I changed behind a tree before appearing before my beta.

"I will watch over Luna during school," Michael said, "Get some rest."

I nodded my head. I was fatigue from a night of non stop running. I looked at Clara's house. There was complete silence coming from it. Everyone was still sleeping. I desperately wanted to see my mate's face. I wanted to make sure she was okay. But I couldn't.
