Chapter seventeen

Behind the door

          I was taken from my room later that night, escorted to a big room.

"Ah! I see you have finally arrived my queen." The man from Xing said.

They made me wear a big white dress and made me look pretty which is something I didn't like. The dress wasn't tight which was good for some reason, the baby wouldn't be harmed and I could breathe easily.

Ling took my hands and examined me; it reminded me of when Envy did the same before going on our first date.

"You look beautiful." He said

"Why am I here?" I asked him

"I thought being a noble gentleman wouldn't harm. I hope that you can enjoy this nice dinner with me." he said and walked me to the table that was in the middle of the room.

They served dinner and we ate. I wasn't in a good mood and I wasn't happy; I didn't want to be with Ling, I wanted to be with Envy.  I only accepted dinner because I was starving and I have to nourish myself for my baby.

"Still no chance in finding the stone?" I asked him

"Well, you can say that I am one step away from it."

"So I'm guessing you don't need me anymore."

"On the contrary my dear." He said before getting out of his chair and coming closer to me. "I told you before; you are perfect on the thrown next to me."

"And if I refuse?"

"I'm not giving you a choice. You will be mine and mine only." He said while leaning towards me to kiss me. I got off the chair and headed backwards, just to get away from Ling.

"So much for being a gentleman; you know sometimes it takes more than just having dinner with a girl so you can have your kiss." I told him

"I'm the son of the emperor of Xing..."

"I don't care!" I said to him out loud "I don't care who you are, I don't know you and I don't like you there for I won't agree."

"So you would rather be with a monster than to be with me?"

"That monster has a name and was the sweetest and kindest thing I ever crossed."

Suddenly I felt something moving inside me. I shouldn't be feeling this yet; but why was it happening? Was the baby growing fast? Anything can be possible since it's not a human baby.

"If you will excuse me I will..."

"Wait..." he interrupted me "Please forgive me"

He came closer to me and gave me a white rose.

"Please accept this flower as a token of my appreciation and admiration to your beauty."

I took the flower and smiled at him; showing that I accepted his apology.

[In room 33]

"Boo" Envy scared me as I came into the room.

"Don't do that." I yelled at him and hit him on the shoulder.

"Hahaha, I told you I will be back. How's my little baby boy doing?" he said and bent till he was at my belly's level.

"You know it could be a girl."

 "Well boy or girl, it doesn't matter... I like the white dress on you by the way."

I blushed at his words.

"I love that red color on your face as well." He said as he brushed my cheek. "Come on let's get out of here before the sun goes out."

"Go where?"

"There is something I just want to show you."

"How will we get out of here?"

Suddenly envy transformed into a giant wolf and told me to get on his back. We left through the window and ran towards the woods. We went back to our house. I got off of Envy's back and he turned back into his original form.

He rubbed his shoulders, looked at me and said.

"Have you been eating too much? You weigh more than you used to."

"Are you calling me fat?"

"No, no, it's probably just the baby."

"Why are we back here?"

He took my hand and told me to follow him. We walked inside the house again; a strange feeling of belonging overwhelmed me; I felt like I was going back home. He led me to the door he forbids me from entering.

"I know this door was off limits. But I want you to see this."

He opened the door for me and told me to enter first. The room was dark and couldn't see; I was getting scared so I told Envy to turn the lights on. I felt his hand taking mine and then the lights were on.

A small bed for a baby, toys, books, crayons, drawings and all sorts of things that a baby and a young child would own.

"What is all of this?"

"This is everything I owned when I used to be a human. That was the bed I slept in; those were the toys I used to play with and those were the books I used to study with. Everything you see in this room is what I used to own. But now I don't own them anymore."

I placed my hand on his back after he drew a sad expression on his face.

"I died of mercury poisoning when I was eighteen. My father tried transmuting me back; instead I became what I am right now. I hate that bastard; he left me and my mother and went searching for another perfect life. And so he married the pipsqueak's mom and had those two idiots."

"Envy..."

"I don't care about him. I have a new father that I am loyal too; I can finally call someone my father, though I hate to look at him, since he has the same face as Hohenheim."

"Has the same face?"

He stayed silent for a few seconds and turned to me and said

"Never mind, I have you two now." He touched my belly while saying it. "I will do anything to protect you. I promise to keep you safe."

He hugged me close and tight, the warm skin of his body gave me the good feeling I used to have when we were together alone.

"Come on lets go to the cliff." He said before taking my hand to go there.

Once we got there, we noticed that it was a full moon. He took me by the waist and got me closer to him, my chest was touching his and we were standing face to face.

 "Would you give me the honor of dancing with you?"

"D... Dancing with you? I'm not such a good dance." I said with ten shades of red on my face.

He took my right arm with his right and my waist with his left after placing my left hand on his shoulder.

He moved me gently, from left to right, going in circles and swaying me. His eyes never left mine; they made me blush even more.

"So, how old are you?" I asked him while we danced

"Now that is a sudden question." He said with a smirk "I can't say you will freak out."

"What are you trying to say? Are you old?" I joked

"I'm about four hundred years old."

"So you are old. I should be with younger people instead of a man older than my grandpa." I winked at him

He laughed and kissed me under the moon light.

Eventually the night had to end and I returned to room 33 without anyone knowing of my disappearance.

"Take care of yourself when I'm gone."

I took his hand and said

"Don't worry, I promise to be careful."

We kissed one more time and I watched him leave through my window again.
