he finally got what was coming to him

"So . . . she was just pretending to be your friend?" Jasper asked. It was 7:45 pm on Sunday and the week of snow had come to its end, leaving me the burden to go to school and face reality yet again. Jasper was asking me questions about what had happened yesterday at the mall with Addi.

"Yep, just to get in with the popular girls and to get closer to Michael," I replied.

"That's sick."

"That's eight grade," I said and reached for some more popcorn. We were watching stupid YouTube videos on our TV and enjoying my last day home before the regular schedule of prison, or what some people call it, school. "You know, now that I think of it, I never was really all that good of friends with Addi," I told him. I wasn't lying either. Addi somehow managed to squeeze her way into our close friendships with each other and then everything sorta tumbleweed. We never hung out with each other outside of school and our group, and we didn't talk all that much to each other, as well.

"Good, she sounds like a -"

"Language," I cut Jasper off in my Steve Rogers voice. He just chuckled and began the 'youtubers react to try not to laugh'. We continued watching videos until we couldn't keep our eyes opened. I eventually gave up trying to stay awake and made my legs drag my body up the stairs and into bed, finally giving my eyes a rest.

"Carter! Wake up! You have to go to school!" the 'soothing' voice of my brother yelled from downstairs in the kitchen. The smell of bacon and syrup drifted in my room, which immediately got me up. I swept into the bathroom and combed out my purple hair, leaving it naturally wavy yet straight at the ends. Then I put on some eyeliner, mascara, and chapstick (the cold weather made my lips chapped), brushed my teeth, and picked out an outfit (black jeans, winter boots, a long sleeved Pierce the Veil shirt, and a heavy leather jacket). When I was pleased with my appearance I grabbed my phone and earbuds and skipped down the stairs towards the mouth watering scent that had waken me up along with Jasper's yelling.

When the kitchen came into view, I saw Jasper standing at the stove, trying to flip a pancake.

"What are you making?" I asked as I sat down at the counter.

"An attempt at at bacon and pancakes," he said over his shoulder, finally getting the pancake to flip. After a few minutes of small talk and the sizzling of pancakes, the food was ready. Jasper threw a pancake and 4 pieces of bacon onto a paper plate in front of me and drowned it in syrup.

"Thanks," I said gratefully. It had been a while since I had had and actually breakfast. Usually the only thing keeping me going until lunch is an apple.

I quickly scarfed down my breakfast, realized that it was 7:50 and I had to be at school and ten minutes, and jumped off the barstool and towards the front door after thanking Jasper for cooking for me and throwing away the plate.

"What are you doing" Jasper asked.

"I need to walk to school," I told him, grabbing my backpack off the ground by the door.

"No, no, no. It is freezing. I'm driving you. C'mon," he said casually and walked out the door with me behind him.

I might have acted cool, but on the inside, I was flipping out. Jasper had by far the coolest car I had ever seen. It was like a normal jet black Jeep, well, normal besides the fact that it didn't have any doors. The only thing keeping you inside was the seatbelt, and Jasper has never let me ridden in it before yesterday when I got my hair dyed because I was 'too young' before he left. This would be my second time riding in it.
