"I want my sister back, Riley". Her voice cracked, I twitched in annoyance at her choice of words.
"I'm no longer your sister, Elena. The old me is long gone." I stood up and moved toward the door.
"Riley, whatever Klaus told you, he's lying." She wiped her nose with the side of her sleeve.
I circled around the chair she was fastened in. Her chest rose and fell in shallow deep moments. How could she be so comfortable with this? I had tied her in rope and blindfolded her, yet she seemed to feel content.
"Klaus gave me the truth!" I was now standing right in front of her, challenging her with my eyes, my finger jabbed in her chest.
"The truth that you were too anxious to tell me," I shook my head at her possessive behavior that she had smothered me with for the past year.
"Stop acting like you don't have a heart, Riley. Why all of a sudden are you trusting Klaus?" Her soft voice was barely above a whisper.
"You know what he did to me Riley," she shivered.
I grabbed the collar of her shirt and shoved the wooden chair backward, so her hair tickled the cement ground. I belted out a solid laugh at the emotions flooding back to her face. First, it was bewilderment, then it was a look of horror.
"I know I have a heart, I just choose not to show it. And don't make me pity you, Elena." I pulled the chair back, even farther, trying to see if she still wanted to say something.
"You're just like him." She spits in my face.
I wiped the spit away with my free hand and let the chair stabilize. I slowly walked away from her and went to the door about to walk out, trying to shake off the violence that shook my body.
"You're going to walk away and give up, just like them aren't you," Her voice loud and clear; probably trying to hold in her anxiety.
I looked at her trying to see her face in the dark but I could only see the dark smirk on her face. By them, I knew she meant the Originals.
"I'd rather be like them be like your pathetic, pitiful, Scooby-Doo gang. " I wanted her to hear the dryness in my voice.
They had already left for New Orleans, and Niklaus had left me behind.
A sweet putrid smell had filled the air in one fluid motion. I had grown to this smell by now. It was my senses trying to set off signals that she was truly frightened now. My mouth moistened at this feeling.
"Riley, come on, let's go home, you're being desperate, we can talk about what's happening." Her voice was started to crack, again.
"W-we can help you. We can fix whatever this is." She looked at me with nurturing eyes.
I could feel droplets escaping my eyes. I wiped them away to see the ruby fluid, the liquid I had gotten used to seeing whenever I felt remorse. I rubbed the thick liquid between my fingers.
"Elena, you can't cure me. I'm not your little pet, I have to live with this." My voice was a whisper, but I know she could hear me just fine. "You're not going to cure me again. Last time you tried y-you only made it worse!"
There it was, back again, anger. It masked the sadness and replaced it with insanity.
I could feel the discomfort in my hands, and my mouth. My hands felt, numb, as I felt something grow out of them. My jaw was throbbing, and I let out a hoarse moan. But I didn't want to show my pain. This is who I'm now, because of her. This was her fault.
"Riley, I thought it would help." I kneeled in front of her, my head down on her lap. Trying to convince her that I was finally giving in.
I felt her hand pull my chin up. I closed my eyes trying to numb out the feeling of scaring her. I heard her gasp, and I could feel the pleasure in my chest, but denied the feeling of looking at her.
"What did he do to you?" Her voice was barely above a whispered.
I opened my mouth to speak and my tongue started oozing with a blood-like substance, although I opened my mouth to speak anyways.
"He didn't do anything, Elena. It was you who did this to me." I stood up so I towered over her.
My mouth was wide open so you could now see that my normal teeth had grown sharper and longer, like blades. My vision began to dim, and I got a feeling in my chest.
"Why are you acting like Klaus?" She whimpered.
I smiled and let out a flat laugh.
"Well, he is my brother, after all."
