It was a regular day in the small town of Jyang. All was quiet except for one girl, Suna, running through the streets with paper bags in her hands. It seemed that she was running errands but she seemed a bit reckless and eager. As she ran she greeted all the familiar faces of that she blew past and bumped into as well. Along the way she had almost bumped into one of the grumpy elders of the village.

"Watch where you're going Suna!" the grumpy man said loudly but not to be rude. "Sheesh, poor girl must have those goggles on too tight." he mumbled.

Suna raced through town nearly reaching her home. As she neared the entrance to their home she slowed down, but her mother could still hear her coming from a mile away through the window of their clay brick house.

"Suna, how many times have I  told you not to run through the town?" she sighed. "You're going to get hurt one day." she scolded just like a mother would.

"Yeah, yeah." Suna said as she halted her pace. She entered the home and set the paper bags down on a table near her mother. "Here, this time I didn't drop them in the sand." she said as she looked at her with a raised brow. "And get hurt? Mom, I've been running through this town my whole life I could run through it with my eyes closed." she said as she moved the goggles that she wore from her eyes to her forehead where they rested.

"Whatever you say honey." the mother said sarcastically as she picked up the bags to go and prepare lunch.

"Hmph." Suna scoffed as she turned to walk away before she tripped and fell to the floor with a thud. "Aww, Kipper," she said in a slightly whimpering voice as she sat up rubbing her head. She had tripped over their pet lizard, reptiles where a fairly common animal in the deserts of Magterra.

"Told you you'd get hurt." the mother said in a triumphant voice as she started to empty the bags. "You can go to you're room now sweetie."

And just like that Suna bolted away through the house, the footsteps of her sandals echoed throughout the walls of their home. And just like that she had left into the attic of their house. She climbed up the ladder and up against the far wall was a desk, with a whole mess of art supplies sprawled across it. It was littered with papers upon papers with a mess of pastels, pencils, watercolors, and ink pots. Off to the side was a tin can that stood atop a wooden box, and in the paint can was many pencils and paintbrushes.

"What should we draw today?" she whispered as she sat down and took a paintbrush, while braiding her hair and then eventually used the brush to lock it. She reached under the desk and pulled out a rather large book, a notebook with the label "Jeremy's Findings: To Suna" she looked at the book with an intense stare, almost as if she was about to cry. She then hugged it tightly and opened it and turned slowly past each page. The notebook was filled with scenic paintings done by her father of all the places he'd explored, old ruins, underwater temples, and many rain forests. On the opposite page of each painting where passages of words that described the atmosphere and wildlife. Suna carefully picked out one near a painting of an underwater temple that had a floor of glass. The passage described a unique creature, one Suna's never heard of, then again she never got to see water much. "This majestic creature had eight tentacles that each had a streak of glowing light that each led up it's glowing head." Suna read this and immediately had flashbacks to when her father told her stories of sea creatures, and showed her a painting of an octopus.

Then, she abruptly put the book down and and pulled out a blank sheet of paper and began to draw and draw. After the sketching, she darkened the drawing with her pencil, and then proceeded to paint. After finishing she ran down back to her mother who had already finished with lunch. "Mom, Mom!" she said energetically. She eagerly showed off her painting, but her mother's response wasn't as pleasant as she thought.
