His lips felt soft and warm against mine, my lips moving in sync with his. So wrong but it felt so right. What am I doing? Char, you have a boyfriend! I reminded myself.
“No, I can’t!” I mumbled pulling back from him.
“I love you Char!” He mumbled barely audible above the music but enough to lt me make sense of the words.
“I’ve got to go!” I said hopping up from the sofa and running out of the room. What did I just do? What am I thinking? I can’t cheat on Reese. Damn it I need to go find him.
“Reese?” I called out but instead collided with Lexi nearly knocking me over.
“Lexi, where’s Reese?” I panted.
“Wow calm down!” She said placing her hands on both my shoulders.
“I need to find Reese!”
“What’s happened? Calm down we’ll find him now!”
“I-I jus-t-”
“You just did what?”
“I just kissed Ryan!” I shouted.
“You did what?” She stopped.
“I mean he kissed me, I don’t know. One minute I was trying to get him to talk to me and then the next he was kissing me. I need to find Reese.”
“Lexi?” I questioned seeing the horrific expression on her face.
“Lexi, what are you looking at?”
“Lexi?” I turned around to what she was staring at over my shoulder and there stood Reese and some blonde, slutty looking, drunk girl eating the faces of eachother.
“Reese?” I whispered in shock.
“Damn mother fucker.” I didn’t know what to do so in that moment in time I had to escape. I sprinted as far away as I could whilst dodging drunken people. I’d landed myself back in the bathroom again locking the door behind me this time so no drunken guy in need would barge in to pee. I slid down the wall; sitting on the ground I held my face in my knees. Quite like the position I had found Ryan in earlier. What just happened? He was cheating on me? What are you talking about Char, you were with Ryan too. But that doesn’t count; he kissed me and said he loves me. Wait! Hold on a minute. He said he loves me? Nah he couldn’t have, but he did. But he mustn’t have, but he did. Oh my God shut up.
“Fuck!” I screamed in aggravation.
“Charlotte?” She questioned knocking on the door.
“You in there?”
“No! Go away!” I sobbed like a little kid who’s hiding from their mum for getting into trouble.
“Char, let me in I know it’s you!”
I didn’t answer instead I sat there silently staring at the floor replaying everything that just happened. What a mess I’ve made of everything. If I had just stayed with Reese none of this would have happened. What am I even talking about, he could have been cheating on me behind my back for ages now but he wouldn’t do that would he? Charlotte Hale, who the fuck are you talking to?
“Char, you know you’re talking out loud!”
“Shit!” I mumbled. I need to stop doing that.
“Just open the door and let me in!” Getting up in defeat I neared the door, wiping a tear away with my sleeve. I turned the lock and Lexi barged in. Locking the door I repositioned myself from where I was sitting before.
“Just forget him, he’s a cheating asshole!” Yeah I agreed in my head not ready to speak yet.
“Don’t worry; I’ll kick his ass for you!” I managed to laugh at this whilst wiping another tear from my cheek.
“He’s got a reputation for this you know.” These words caught my attention so I looked up at Lexi.
“I didn’t tell you though because you said he makes you happy and that’s all that really matters!”
“A reputation for this?” I asked confused as why Lexi seems to know stuff about him that I don’t.
“Yeah, four summers ago! Remember my friend Cassie?” I nodded my head remembering Lexi’s old friend.
“Yeah, he was going out with her and cheated on her! It broke her heart, she was depressed for months.”
“I should have told you, I’m so sorry!” She said sliding down the wall beside me.
“No, it’s okay! I should have seen through him, how could I be so stupid?”
“It’s okay, come here!” She said giving me a hug.
“Now let’s go dump his sorry ass!” She smiled getting up from the ground and offering a hand out to help me get up.
Getting up from the cold, hard tiles we made our way out of the bathroom. I almost burst out laughing seeing as there was a queue outside the bathroom door for the toilet. Whoops!
We came back downstairs and to our surprise Reese and Cassie were still in the exact same spot. The anger boiled inside me and I knew I was about to do something that might give me a bit of a mad-woman reputation but right now nothing would make me stop what I was about to do.
“Reese!” I literally roared. He finally parted from the girl and the shocked expression on his face when he saw me made me scoff.
I made my way over to him with every step I got angrier seeing him with her. When I was almost there Cassie took a few steps back from Reese; wise girl. When I was less than a metre in front of him I drew my hand back and full on slapped him across the face. I wasn’t completely satisfied with the result of his slightly red tinted cheek now which he was cradling in his hand so what I did next was sure to put him in satisfactory pain.
To put in plain and simple; I kicked him in the balls.
“We’re over asshole.” I said before turning around and leaving him in pain. Laughing at Lexi’s shocked expression I grabbed her by the wrist.
“We can leave now!”
“You go girl!” She laughed.
