"Babe are you sure you have to go?" you ask your boyfriend Joc Pederson as he packs his bags.

"Yes babe, I know it's like 3 to 4 weeks, probably the longest game trip, but I'll be back before you know it." he says.

"Can I at least drive you to the airport?" you ask.

"Sure let me just call one of the guys to let them know." he says.

He's been gone one or two weeks, but never 3 to 4 weeks long, that's technically a whole month. You always want to surprise him and travel to see him play but you're paycheck can barely pay for rent and food. You watch him as he talks to whoever is on the other end of the line and then hangs up, "They said yes," he said, "but I have to be there a half hour before they are expected to get there. So I was thinking, maybe some lunch and then we'll get there?"

"Sounds good." you say to him with a half smile.

You really don't want him to be gone for so long. You help him finish packing and then head out for lunch at a local cafe. "Are you excited?" you ask him.

"Yeah, but I'll be thinking of you obviously." he says.

That puts a little comfort in your heart. "You better play your ass off Pederson, and rest when necessary." you say.

You're usually not the type of girlfriend to be demanding but you just do it once in a while. "So what you're saying is to break my leg?" he asks cracking a smile.

"Stop Joc, I never want to see you hurt." you say.

"Okay, I'm sorry (y/n), you know I love you." he says.

"And I love you too, yay our food is here." you say as a tuna sandwich and a grilled chicken sandwich arrive at your table.

"Bon appetite." Joc says as he takes a bit into his sandwich.

Once you're both done eating you make your way to the airport. The one part of the day you've been dreading. He drives to the exclusive part of the airport where their plane is. Their charter bus isn't there yet, which leaves you guys with about a half hour or less.

"Are you okay, (y/n)?" Joc asks you.

"Yeah, never better." you say.

"I know you're lying, I can see it in your eyes." he says.

"If you know I'm not okay then why did you ask?" you say with a bit of anger in your tone.

You collect your thoughts quickly. "Sorry Joc, I didn't mean to snap, I just want us to enjoy our last moments together before you leave for a month. I don't want to make you feel bad for leaving me, so please just hold me." you say and a pair of arms immediately wrap around you, "Sorry for making you feel this way babe." he says.

"It's not your fault." you say.

The two of you just stand there, Joc leaning against his car, your head laying on his chest, his arms wrapped tightly around you, yours wrapped tightly on him. It feels like eternity in his arms and you hear the charter pulling up, but neither of you guys hesitate to move.

"Well if it isn't the love birds." Kiké says coming out of the charter.

"That's not fair, can Kourt drive me here from now on?" Justin says jokingly.

Joc and you separate from your long embrace and he grabs his bags from the trunk of the car and puts it with the rest of the bags. He goes back to you to hand you his keys. "I'll miss you baby." he says.

"I'll miss you too." you say.

"You too, but I was talking about my car." he says.

"Well bye, I'm about to run this into a wall." you say grabbing the keys and running to the driver's side.

He catches up to you and picks you up, "I was just kidding babe, I'm going to miss you especially." he says putting you down.

He pulls you in closer and kisses you, you kiss him back, and you guys are just standing there in the heat of the moment.

"Okay Young Joc, report to the plane before we take away your privileges." he pulls away and then goes back in for a quick peck, "I'll see you in a month babe, I'll call you whenever I'm free, and I'll remember what you said." he says.

"Bye Joc, I love you." you say as he boards the plane. You drive off in his car before takeoff and park in a nearby area. You watch as the plane prepares for takeoff and you get a text. "I love you too." it says. You look up from your phone and watch as the plane takes off into the sky.
