All too long ago you made a promise to me
that you’d be there,
so alone I would not be.
One day, I find out that you left, you are gone.
For years I waited for you,
I waited for far too long
So I gave up my hope and left that place.
For you had left me without a trace.You left no note nor any good-bye
And now I’m left to wonder why.
So as my vision begins to dim
The thoughts in my head seem to swim,
I flashed back to the day that promise was made.
The day you promised forever you’d stay.
I slowly awoke to find tears on my face
And soon my heart began to race.
I see you sitting there by my side
You hug me and ask why I had cried.
I said “I thought you’d left me all alone."
You told me “I’m sorry, I should have known”
