You are the moon in the darkening sky
the soothing soft melody of a lullaby
You are the fire on a cold winter night
and the gentle glow of a child’s night light
You’re the sweetness after the sour
and the vibrant colors of the flowers
You are the pearl hidden within a shell
the kind heaven to my despairing hell
You are the strong umbrella in the rain
you’re my trials and tribulations’ bane
You are the music piercing the silence
the voice of reason within the chaotic
violence
You are the breeze on a hot summer’s day
the one who can keep my tears at bay
There isn’t a single thing I’d change about
you
Because you make me feel like I’ll make it
through
You are the sweet warmth to my cold
and you are worth way more than gold
You’ve melted away the hate I had
harnessed.
