Freedom is something I'll never have
even though my body looks free
My soul shall be forever bound
for all of eternity
And no you can not help me
because no amount can break
these chains that hold me captive
and make me cry great lakes
For I am bound by many lies
I can’t tell anyone the truth
I can’t even tell half my story
of what happened in my younger youth
I am bound by all of my fears
they make me shiver and quake
I wish they would just go away
but they’re always present, asleep or awake
I’m bound by the role I have to play
I have to act so happy and sweet
even if I’m upset and angry inside
so kindly must others I treat
I am bound by words unspoken
I am bound by secrets untold
I am bound to help the broken
I am bound to warm the cold
