Chris

Heres where the chapters get longer. Prepare yourself for the story to officially start. You won't know what hit you. *rubs hands like birdman* lmao, enjoy.

We sat at the table with our hands held, heads bowed, eyes closed, and our ears opened. My mother, Brandy, was reciting a prayer before we ate. My father, Joseph, open his eyes every so often to sneak a piece of macaroni, eager to eat the meal.

"Lord, we just wanna thank you for blessing us with this meal -- basically keeping food on the table and keeping us under your blood. Protecting us as we move to the places we have to go.--"

My father opened his eyes and moved his chin up, trying to grab another nibble at the fried chicken we bought from the store. "-- Lord help me not back hand Joe for trying to eat while I'm saying our grace." She chuckled. He ignore her and bit off a piece.

"Hey Lord! Jesus we bless your name! Hey yakayabaha!" She stretched out and back handed dad as if she caught the Holy Ghost and was speaking in tongue. He rubbed his chin and mugged her. "And we all say amen." We stated together before picking up the forks.

"Let's eat." Momma smiled. Especially while looking at her husband. She was being petty for the back handing my dad.

"Chris baby, how's school?" She asked biting into her chicken. She glanced at her ring and smiled twisting. She picked it up and kissed it. Every time we sit down to eat she does the same action. As if, on que, dad picked up the newspaper and began to read it.

"It's alright. It's not really anything to brag about. Except this one girl. Ma, I need advice." I paused before glancing at my meal then back at my mother. My mother is a figure in my life. I can always go to her for guidance. She gives the best advice, even if it's something I don't want to hear.

Momma wasn't always right, but she never lead me wrong.

"What?" She asked. "You got a girlfriend? And you didn't tell me?" She frowned before pushing her eyebrows together.

" You know how sometimes you buy a dress online for an event or something, whatever you buy your dress for. The point is that you bought it and when I got shipped here .." I paused trying to find the words to explain my point.

"When it got delivered, it was nothing like you thought it would be. The dress looked saggy and ugly on you basically. Like the cross open design on the front of the dress was way more opened and made your ti -- you didn't like it. Every time you got the mindset to end it you either get distracted or it's like your laptop goes missing and you can't return it. It won't go away."

"You get what I'm saying. This girl won't leave me alone. I try and try again to break up with her, but it's not getting through her head."

"Chris, why didn't you jut say that instead of giving a bad story about ya' mom having a soggy body, not fitting her clothes, and being too lazy to give it back. It would've save some time, now my egg salad is cold." He got up and walked off to the kitchen to warm his food up again.

"Ignore your father, he's being a jackass!" She yelled towards the kitchen. She looked back at me and smiled.

"Well Chris, do you love her?"
