"Josiah?"
"Whoever this is on the phone, if it's a joke you better stop because I will —"
"Aubrey shut up." His voice sounded strained. It cracked every time he said a word. "Listen I need your help to get me home."
"Tell me where you are and I will come and get you as soon as possible." Aubrey could feel herself tearing up and She clenched the phone in her hand. Her breathing fastened.
"I don't know exactly. All I know I-is that I'm not in Virginia I'm in some other state. I know it's close to Virginia though. It's not by plane because my ears aren't killing me." He groaned from the pain over the phone.
She heard the front door slam as Josiah explained all of this to me. Aunt Jay came outside fuming with anger. "Aubrey. I swear when you step inside this house your ass is grass." She grabbed her arm. Aubrey shook her off.
"Let go of me!"
"Hello?" Josiah spoke. "Aubrey come quick please." He whimpered.
Aunt jay grabbed the phone and tried to press the end button. "Stop! Stop!"
"What's wrong with you!"
"It's Josiah on the phone!"
"Josiah?" She stopped. "Is he okay?"
"That's what I'm trying to find out but you're coming out here like a maniac trying to end the call!" Aubrey screamed. She exhaled sharply.
"Okay. You don't know where you are. Uh, describe the building in front of you."
"I can't see out my swollen eyes well, I could barely see the numbers I was typing. It looks like a street full of —" he stopped talking. "Aubrey I have to go she's back. I'll call you as soon as I can."
He hung up before Aubrey could respond. She grew saddened. She felt a hand on her shoulder. "We'll find him soon."
"I sure hope so." She mumbled. "He said they weren't even in Virginia. They're in another state! I just wish I knew which one. "
