Just before they'd adjourned the meeting, Annabeth had assigned Leila the task of keeping watch over Leo, but she at least tried a little bit to sugar coat it for him.

"Just make sure he doesn't get into trouble," Annabeth had said, but by the disappointed look on Leo's face, Leila knew what he was thinking. Why would Annabeth trust a complete stranger who is possibly the daughter of Gaea over him? Annabeth had gotten up and left Leo and Leila in a very uncomfortable silence. Finally Leila couldn't stand it anymore.

"You know, instead of me being like a temporary jailer we could be friends. Or maybe just acquaintances?" she said, with the tiniest hope that they could be the former. Leo looked up at her and smiled, but it didn't seem like he truly meant it and he immediately went back to looking at his hands. It was more of a half-hearted acknowledgement that she'd spoken.

Leila sighed, "Look Leo, I know you're disappointed that Annabeth seems to trust a random stranger she met like three seconds ago more than you, but I think that we are kind of watching each other here. You're making sure I'm basically not evil and I'm making sure you don't..."

"Try to blow us all up?" Leo finishes for her, but he doesn't seem quite as sad. "Look, I get that none of this is your fault but it just really sucks that my own friends trust you over me. I've saved their butts so many times and I mess up once, just once, and I completely lose their trust. It wasn't even my fault!" he half-shouted as he threw his arms up in the air out of frustration. Leila sighed as she looked at him, trying to think of something to cheer him up. She'd never had to help someone who was upset so she had no idea what to do. The only thing she knew was being funny so she decided to go with that.

"Everybody makes mistakes," she said with mock seriousness. "Everybody has those days," she continued with a small smile beginning to form on her lips. Leo looked up at her as he continued the next line.

"Everybody knows what, what I'm talkin' 'bout," he sang while smiling goofily.

"Everybody gets that way!" they yelled together and laughed. Leo wiped a tear from his eye and chuckled.

"I can't believe we just sang Hannah Montana together," he said, smiling and shaking his head. "You know Leila, you might not be so bad after all," he said with a grin. "I think we are going to be great friends."

A/N: Okay not gonna lie I kinda forgot about this story until someone voted on it today. Sorry!! And yes, I know this chapter is painfully short and not very good, but I will try to update this story more often again like I used to.
