Chapter 2 •New friend•

As I was walking to school, which is only a fifteen minute walk. I was on my phone looking through my music, when I bumped into someone and fell onto the cement. I looked up and saw the twins.

There was an awkward silence for about five seconds. "Watch where your walking!" Ethan snaps, glaring at me. I know not to reply, so I wait for them to leave. I was about to get up, when this stranger ran up to me. At first I was scared because I thought he was gonna hit me. I mean I wouldn't be surprised if he did, I'm used to it. When I looked up into his brown eyes, I felt somewhat safe. "I'm sorry, I should get going. Thanks for the hand." I said with an awkward smile.

"No problem. What's your name?" He asked with a small smile. Not going to lie, he's a little cute.

"Um, my name is Katherine... Johnston. yours?" I asked.

"Shawn, Shawn Mendes. That's a nice name." He compliments. I almost choke on air when he says that.

"Thank you." I said blushing a bit. I looked at my phone and and realized I only had eight minutes left to get to school. I look up to him again, a small frown on my face.

"I'm gonna be late to school." I state as I started walking away.

"Oh yeah, right me too. I'll catch you later? Oh wait ,I didn't get your number." He says walking up to me.

That took me by surprise. No one talks to me, so it's new for me when someone asks for my number. "You want my number?" I ask in disbelief. He smiles while rubbing his neck. I'm guessing he's nervous.

"If you don't mind?" He asks. I nod a bit too quickly, which makes his smile appear.

"No, its fine. Here." I hand him my phone. We switched phones and exchanged numbers.

"See you around." He says walking away. I waved and started running back. Thankfully I made it by taking a short cut. That was too weird, the twins probably set it up. That was probably apart of their plan to humiliate me. I've learned from my mistakes in the past, I'm not doing that again.

I made it to my locker as the second bell Rang, warning that it's time to head to class.

As I was walking I was looking out for the twins. I saw them running up to me looking angry. Not a good sign.

"Hey you slut, where were you this morning?!!" Grayson yells in my face. I flinch at his tone. "I was walking here." I mutter, not daring to look into his eyes. That's his favourite word to call me. Although I'm far from it, I'm a virgin.

"We almost missed you this morning." Ethan says. I shut my eyes as a fist comes in contact with my face, knocking me down. My eyes widen in shock, they've never actually hit me before. They've pushed me around and stuff, but they never hit me before. I don't do anything but lay there in shock, holding my jaw. I think he cut my lip.

Before the last bell rang, the twins left. I got up very slowly and made it to class. I made my way inside and sat down at my desk at the back as the last bell goes. I just want to stay home and never come out of my room. How am I going to cover this up?

During the whole class I just drew in my sketch pad. I sit alone in the back so I didn't have to worry about someone seeing my drawings and quotes.

A piece of paper lands in the middle of my drawing. What the hell? I look at it in confusion before picking it up and unfolding it.

Sighing to myself I just throw it away, earning a laugh from Tina and her group of idiots.

Can't today go by faster?
