I woke up the next morning to an empty bed and a note.

I hope you slept alright beautiful. I had to leave and for that I am sorry. I shall see you tonight. Have a lovely day.

Cole x

The note put a smile to my face and I placed it under my pillow to read again later. I cant believe I fell asleep in his arms last night. I couldn't understand why my tears had burn his hand. But I guess I should get used to the fact that for now I wouldn't be able to understand much.

There was a knock on my door and the grumpy guard entered with my food. He placed it on the table at the foot of my bed and turned to leave.

"Whats your name?" I had never heard him say a word before and I wanted to stop referring to him as grumpy.

"Tom..." He turned to face me and his face clouded with confusion. I smiled at him.

"Hello Tom." I said to him in a chirpy voice. The note made me feel the happiest I had since being here.

"Um hi..." He stuttered to me.

"I'm Carmen in case you didn't know."

"Yes... I know who you are..." For someone who looked broody all the time he was shy.

"I was wondering if you could do me a favour Tom."

"It depends what you want..." He blushed. I'm not sure why but he did.

"I was wondering if I could go for a walk around the...kingdom." His eyes widened with shock.

"I'm sorry miss but I don't think the boss would like that." He wouldn't look at me in the eye.

"But it was his idea."

"He said you could?" He looked confused again.

"Yes. Last night."

"I...I will have to go and ask" He began stuttering again. It was actually very sweet. Maybe Tom was in the same situation Cole was and didn't have a choice.

"Of course." I gave him a smile as he left briskly out the door and locked it behind him. He always locked it but Cole never did. I jumped out of bed and went into the small bathroom. I thought that I was most likely in for a wait so I had a quick shower and washed my hair. After that I slipped into a light denim skirt and green strap top. Even though it must be freezing at home, here it was at least 30 degrees. The first time I had worn shoes here was last night and I didn't want to wear heels again. I dug through the shoes until I came across a pair of black converse. I couldn't believe that all of this was here and in my size.

I took the towel from around my wet hair and looked at the mirror. The sight I saw shocked me. My boring blue eyes had gone deeper. They had turned into a swirling light of pale blue and ocean. They were alive. I swear they hadn't been like this yesterday. My pale skin seemed to be glowing from an inner soul. It was like something had been unlocked in myself when he slapped me. My whole being was singing with a glowing aura. My hair was alive with energy and my deep blonde had turned into a lighter blonde that glowed in the light. My slight lips appeared lighter and had the just kissed look. My cheek bones were perfect and highlighted my face. Then I blinked.

I was just boring me. Being here must of set my imagination on a rampage. I brushed my hair without looking in the mirror after that. I was just boring me nothing like what I had thought I had seen. When I was ready I lay on the bed and looked at the ceiling thinking of my mum and wondering if she was missing me. I thought of my little brother and the way how even though he was annoying he could put a smile on my face. I bet my Leane was going out of her mind not being able to text me and go over all the gossip she had about her and her boyfriend. It made me laugh at how just little things could make me miss my home so much. The way my little brother laughed, my mum smiling, Leane's pointless gossip, everything. The knock on the door snapped me out of it and I turned to see Tom peeking his head around. That was the first time he had knocked.
