Chapter Nine.
Henley.
I watched the servants as they shaved down the grass and watered the plants in the garden. The observation made me smile. My Mother used to love gardening. I was brought out of my staring by a knock at the bedroom door. I turned to the source of the knocking.
"Come in." I say, not knowing what else to say. The door opened and Harry stepped into the room. He was holding a tray and had a smile on his face.
"Good morning, Henley. I brought you some breakfast." He says and lays the tray down onto the nearest surface, it being the night stand. I look over at the tray and see porridge and orange juice. I smile and look to him.
"Thank you." I say while walking over to the tray.
"You're very welcome. Did you sleep well?" He asks me and I nod, taking a spoonful of my porridge.
"Mmmm. The mattress was so comfortable!" I say, surprised. Harry looks down and smiles.
"I'm glad, sweetheart." He says and that's when everything floods back to me. Liam, werewolves, being mates, my life in danger, future Queen of this place. I finish the porridge with Harry standing by the window, where I previously was.
I walk over to Harry and look out of the window. The many servants amazed me.
"How many servants do you have?" I ask him and he smiles slightly.
"I've lost count." He mutters and I nod.
"Did you... Take over the throne from your parents?" I ask and he turns to look at me.
"Yes." Was all he says and I nod, deciding not to press the issue any further.
"I need to get going. My friends will be worried about me." I say and Harry nods.
"I'll make sure that you get home. If you wait by the door, Liam will be down soon to drive you home." He says and before I could protest, he is out of the door.
"Thank you." I whisper.
