I stormed out of the rink with my dad trailing behind me. I was beyond mad! I cannot believe Dylan is friends with Jackson. It ruins anything that could have happened! I mean I'm only fourteen, but I'm turning fifteen in three weeks! And Jackson is sixteen just like Dylan.
But Dylan just has to be friends with Jackson, screwing up any possible good thing that could have been. I wish I was alone at the skate rink and that Jackson hadn't shown up.
This is just going to mess with my thoughts which doesn't need to happen. Not with regionals coming up!
"Uggghhhhh!" I screeched as dad and I reached the car.
"Ky, what's wrong?" He asked softly.
Up until now, he had been very quiet. He hasn't spoken since I walked up to him at the snack bar and said I felt sick. He knows that was a lie now.
"Dylan. That's what's wrong. He just has to be friends with a stupid boy who was nice to me. Can he just go off to military school? He is out to ruin my life! I don't care if he is older or not. Just send him to military school!" My anger boiled over and my words were quiet but had an edge to them.
My dad remained silent for a moment and then spoke, "Dylan isn't worth all this anger, you have regionals and you should focus on that and what you love. Don't let him get to you."
I let his words settle in and soon enough my anger has dissipated into thin air. This was one of the reasons I was thankful for my dad. He always knew what to say.
"Now how about some food?" He asked with a happy grin plastered to his face.
I laughed at his excitement over food and nodded my head. "How about Burger King?" I asked excitedly. I was just dying for a juicy, mouthwatering burger. Mom never let's me eat fast food because it will ruin my "figure" and make me sick in the ice.
"Agreed Ky, I want a Whopper. Don't you?" He smiled and his eyes crinkled.
I nodded furiously and squealed when we pulled into the parking lot. I just hope mom doesn't find out. She'd probably kill me with more workouts.
