I pulled the skates off my aching feet as I sat next to my bag. Chandler had gone to the sound room to grab my phone for me, but he hadn't come back yet so I pulled out the competiton forms and began to fill them out. Chandler came tumbling down the stairs with a massive grin on his face and my phone in his hand with a familiar person on the screen.
"Noah!" I smiled as i grabbed the phone from Chandlers hands. "Boy why didnt you bring the phone to me when he called?" I asked as I saw the call time on the top of the screen. Chandler giggled quietly as Noah smirked his dimples popped out and my heart melted. Gosh I missed my best friend so much.
I paused as i looked at the screen in confusion. Those surroundings looked oddly familiar. "Noah, where are you? Your surroundings look familiar." I wondered aloud. "Oh. Uhmmm just outside my house. I facetime you here all the time. That's why its familiar." He stuttered and his eyes glanced around. He was lying. He turned around and I caught a glimpse of the sign that I saw everyday. The one that sat in the front of the parking lot that belonged to this very ice rink. I grinned and stood up, throwing everything in my bag and handing my phone to Chandler.
"Hang up, follow me and start recording this for me. Please." I mouthed to him and started to walk off. I heard his footsteps behind me so I started walking faster planning to be able to run into Noah's arms and catch it all on video because he wasn't supposed to be here for another four hours if he had left at the normal time with Abby.
"That cheeky monkey." I muttered. Chandler laughed at the comment and I turned to give him a harsh "Shhhh!" as we reached the door my hands started to shake. I was seeing my best friend after seven long months of facetime calls and text messages late into the night. After all we had been through since he had moved, it had all been through the phone. Not once had i seen him face to face in person over all that time. I wanted to see him face to face, to wrap my arms around his broad shoulders and hear his laugh all in person. Not with the stupid phone screen between us. And that's what I was gonna do, I wasn't going to waste the time I was allowed with him. I was going to make the best of it, and that starts now.
I thought all of this to myself as a slammed the door open and rushed outside to be met with his arms.
