Haylie lay in bed, her head resting in Sera's lap, who was going on and on about Solas being a "friggin breedin' abandonin' shit of an egg!" Haylie had him ordered from the room about 5 seconds after regaining consciousness, he didn't argue with her, simply stepped out with a nod. "Pregnant" the words still echoed in her ears. Honestly she didn't know how to feel, Happy? Scared? Angry? Some weird combination of the three? Right now any emotions she might have towards the situation were shrouded by the intense shock she felt at not only the news that she was pregnant, but at the sudden return of Solas. A big part of her, the logical part, said she should have Cassandra kick his elfy butt into the fade itself. It's not like she didn't immediately offer after his arrival. But the illogical part...the illogical part was still stupidly in love with this arse of a man. And against her better judgement, Haylie gave in.
"Sera? Can you ask Solas to come here please?"
"Eugh. Whaddayeh want that piece a shite for? Oh for- you're not still in the thick of it are you?" Sera demanded. "I'm not still wha- just never mind. I need to talk to him Sera I can't just ignore him forever." Haylie responded. "Pfft. Says' oo? I say we stay here while mister "elven glory" out there has his." Sera remarked. "No, Sera. I-I need to face this. It's...more complicated than just me and him now." Haylie said firmly. "Right...well. Just this once, and only 'cause your arguin' could actually probably kill you." Sera sighed. Within a few seconds Cole appeared by the inquisitor's bedside. "It'll be alright you know?" He said, placing a cool cloth to her forehead. "How can you be sure?" Lavellan sighed. But before Cole could respond, the door flew open and Solas entered the room. "Cole, would you give us a moment?" Haylie asked kindly. "Of course, I'll bring you some food up." After Cole had gone, Solas cleared his throat "So. By now, you've probably had some time to think about this...situation." Solas's posture rigid and his tone firm. "I-I don't know what to think. How did you know?" Lavellan asked plainly. "How else? The fade. It reveals many things. Including...this. I came as soon as I knew...I'm so sorry, this is my fault." Solas winced
"So now you decide to show your face?! After leaving with no explanation? After breaking my heart, you show up unannounced. And you just-" Lavellan begins to cry suddenly. Solas suddenly wears an expression of panic, he reaches a hand out to Haylie but she pushes it away. "Do you have any idea how many times I sat waiting for you to come back?! How many times I fell asleep hoping to see you again just once and woke up heartbroken?! Solas...I love you... And you've hurt me. I should hate you. I should never want to speak to you again." Lavellan weeps. "Yes. You'd be right to do so." He says, sitting beside Haylie in the bed. "But I don't Solas, and that's the problem, Even now I still..." She erupts into tears and falls into Solas's arms. "I'm so sorry Vhenan." Solas mutters weakly, placing his arms around her. "There is something... Something we must discuss Vhenan." Haylie sits up, wiping her eyes. A pained look washed over Solas's face. "This...child. This pregnancy...it cannot continue." Solas winced.
