"How is that even possible?" Cassandra asked. "I don't know, but I intend to find out" Haylie said determinedly.
Suddenly the ground began to pulse, sending bits of dust and debris flying.
"Well whatever happened, or didn't happen, I think the universe has noticed." Dorian said.
"We need to get out of here before this whole places comes down around us!" Haylie ordered.
They ran for the exit but before they could reach the door, a giant green ward surrounded them. A dark haired elven man with steely grey eyes and a black velvet robe adorned with intricate golden chest pieces entered. In his grip was Mirianna, looking rather frightened and pale.
"Let her go, you bastard!" Lavellan demanded.
"Mirianna can leave whenever she chooses. I only need you to be cooperative." He replied smoothly.
"Haylie..." she said, her face looked ashamed.
"I-I'm so sorry. He-I couldn't hold him off anymore." Mirianna said, tears streaming down her face. "What have you done Javaris, what is this?!" Haylie snapped. "I don't wish to hurt you Inquisitor, I only want to talk. You see, your unborn baby holds a potent and ancient power, drawn from the untapped power of the elven people, too much of this power is dangerous and will surely eradicate all elven-kind. In these past years our people have gone to war with humans, dwarves and Qunari alike, little of us now remain. He explained
"They're killing us all Javaris! you're sending thousands of Elves to their deaths!! This isn't the way!" Mirianna cried. "Please Haylie, I didn't know, I had no idea..." she sobbed.
"What? What's going on?" Haylie asked in frustration. Javaris loosened his grip on Mirianna, allowing her to speak.
"16 years ago, the order of Knives sent in their forces and wiped out the inquisition. They kidnapped you Haylie, they kept you in a basement until you gave birth and slit your throat..." Mirianna said, her head down. "They saw you as simply a loose end, a casualty of war... they wanted your baby to give them the power they needed to start a war, but the child's powers couldn't be harnessed. So once Javaris came to power he began using magic to extract a bit of the child's blood and inject himself with it. This blood gave him the power to command the armies he needed, but even with this power, humans still outnumber us too greatly. So Javaris has been slowly increasing the link, draining me of power. After a particularly nasty attack from a group of human nobles, Javaris used his power to send every last elf he could account for after the nobles to wipe them out. But they were met with an even bigger army and were obliterated. A few clans of Dalish, Me, Javaris and the handful of elves left in the order, are practically all that's left of the Elvhen. The day I came to you, It was the day Javaris was going to use your child's blood...my blood...to raise our army back to life. To command an army of undead... All my life I was told you didn't want me Haylie! But when I discovered I could use time magic...I had to see you. I went back to the day you died, my birth. You begged them to spare me. You fought so hard...I couldn't...I had no idea." Mirianna sobbed.
Haylie stood in shock.
"Mirianna..." was all she could manage to get out.
"I had nothing to do with her death and you know it Mirianna, that was three years before I even became the leader of the Knives!" Javaris spat. "I'm using your power to save elvenkind!" He said.
"No. You've destroyed elvenkind Javaris! How can you not see?!"'Mirianna asked desperately.
Haylie suddenly began to feel dizzy, her skin blanched as she crumpled to her knees. "Inquisitor!" Exclaimed Casandra. Dorian reached out to grab her as she fell unconscious. "Mirianna! Fetch her some water quickly, from the carriage!" Javaris commanded. Mirianna ran towards the exit, the wards dissolving.
"She needs air" Dorian insisted. "Mirianna!" Javaris called. She returned with a small glass flask filled with water, and pressed it to Haylies lips. "Mirianna..." Haylie breathed. "I've always wanted you..." she said, a tear streaming down her cheek.  " I know now." Mirianna said gently, brushing away the tear from her mother's cheek. "That's why I saved you...It was me who caused the explosions. It was me who killed the soldiers attacking Skyhold." Mirianna sobbed.
