*Delano POV*
I ran into the hospital, hoping that my friend was okay. I went to the woman in the Emergency Area, and saw Faith sitting down, looking worried as she shook her leg up and down. When she noticed me, she came in for a hug. I hugged her back, seeing how worried she was. "Do you know-"
"That bitch wouldn't tell me shit." She said, loud enough for the woman behind the desk to hear.
"Faith, keep calm" I said, trying to calm her down. I got her to sit, as I tried to piece together everything in my head. I dropped Ashley and Deidra home, because I didn't need more drama with Ashley around and I didn't want Deidra to see them in this state, or hearing the worst.
Oh my God. We all should've just stayed here-"
"Faith calm-"
"No!!!! What if something bad happens, I'll keep blaming myself Delano. We should've stayed or-"
"Faith? Delano?" We heard a voice say from behind. We turned and saw a red eyed Jermanie, with bandages on his wrist.
"Is she okay?" He asked. I knew there was something off with him. "Bro, are you okay is the question. You look high as fuck" I questioned. He shook his head. This was probably too much for him to handle but I'll figure out what's wrong with him later.
We waited for about an hour. Faith fell asleep on Jay's shoulder and Jay was just staring into space. I paced back and forth, hoping that Joy will be okay.
I wanted to know what happened to land her in the hospital. Who found her? Was she already unconscious?
"Family of Joy Springs?" A doctor asked and I walked quickly to her. Jay was trying to get Faith up as the doctor questioned us.
"Who are you to the patient?" The doctor asked. We all looked at each other, and back at the doctor.
"I'm Delano, her fiancé. That's Jermanie Campbell, and Faith Reed, the sister and brother-in-law. What happened to her?" I lied.
"She had a overdose of sleeping pills. She mixed them with a lot of alcohol. We managed to pump her stomach to get rid of all the damage done. We managed to stablize her but unfortunately, she's in a coma." The doctor said and Faith, who I didn't even know wad behind me, burst out in tears.
"A fucking coma!?" Faith cried. " for how long? When will she get up?" Faith continued to cry into Jermaine. I liked at him and he looked broken. Like he was lost or something.
"I'm sorry, but we can't determine that. It could be days, weeks, months, even a year before she wakes up..."*Jay POV*
"It could be days, weeks, months even a year before she wakes up..."
I couldn't continue to listen to the doctor. All I could do was hold my girlfriend, who was crying historically into my chest, for both her support and mine.
Joy, please wake up...*Faith POV*
"... visiting hours are from 9 am to 8 pm. You're free to see her now if you want to" the doctor told us. I kept crying, as Jay held me closer.
The doctor eventually left and Delano left to give me a bottle of water. "Who's seeing her first?" I asked. Jay and Delano looked at he m each other. "We should all see her one time and done" Jermanie responded. "Fuck that two people at a time thing, we are here now and I'm pretty sure there's enough space to see our friend" he continued. I sighed. I was tired of crying. I needed to see my friend and make sure that she was alright....
Delano walked in first, with me and Jay behind hand-in-hand. There were rubes going in and out of Joy, with the machine beeping. There laid a lifeless Joy on the bed. I wanted to cry but I couldn't. I wanted to be strong for her.
"Hi Joy!" I yelled, running to her in the playground. "Hi Faith, wanna go on the swings? " she yelled back as we hugged. "Yeah sure" and we ran to the swing and started playing on it. "You want some snacks?" I asked, jumping off the swing and going to my bag which had grapes, cheese and crackers in my lunch box. "Faith we just got on the swing c'mon!" Joy wined. "Well I'm hungry you eating or not" I said back and she rolled her eyes and came off the swing. "You're lucky your my best friend..."
"Joy" I said, while watching a scene on the tv. The woman was on the death bed, telling her daughter to pull the plug. We just came home from high school, watching movies in my living room. "Please don't ever do the craziness this woman is trying to make her daughter do to me, God forbid we're ever in this situation" I told her. She was sitting with her legs in my lap, and she laughed. "Girl bye I know you'll make it through whatever it is, if it were me, I need you to stay strong for the both of us, no mater the situation" Joy said and I smiled.
"Ditto"My eyes started getting teary. I needed her to come back to us so that we can help her get over whatever it is that she's going through.
