Chapter Fifteen.

*Delano POV*
"Daddyyyyyy is Ms. Joy going to wake up if a prince kisses her?" Deidra asked and I smiled. Joy hasn't been making any improvements I picked Deidra up from school and brought her here, because she wanted to see Joy, since she hasn't seen her in a very long time.
We explain to Dee that Joy was Sleeping Beauty, and that she ate an apple and put her in a deep sleep or however the fuck that story went.
"Maybe baby girl, but we gonna wait and see if she can get up on her own okay?" I told her. I don't need her being reckless and letting some male nurse in here kissing an unconscious woman.
You would think she would be shy, hell no this little girl is crazy as fuck. Once told the teacher told me she had to put her on time out because she called a boy in her class fat, her little ass done told me in front of me that she was eating all the snacks and she was "helping him be healthy, cuz he's pretty close to having diabetes at a young age"
Shorty disrespectful at times but that's still my baby.
"Can I get a juicy?" She asked me and I smiled. "Sure baby, we gotta go anyways, visiting is soon over. Say bye to Ms. Joy" I told her. She ran over to Joy and gave her I kiss on the cheek. "Bye Ms.Joy, don't worry your prince is on his way" she told her and she ran into my arms. I picked her up, and squeezed Joy's hand before leaving...

"Mommy!" She squealed as I dropped her off at her mother's house. Ashley kissed Dee and she ran right inside.
"How is she?" Ashley asked. I shrugged.
"Same. No improvements" I told her. She sighed. "She'll pull through Lony, don't stress it" Ashley comforted.
"Thanks. For being supportive. I should probably go now" I said and I was about to go, until Ashley grabbed my grabbed my shoulder. She looked at me with much concern in her face.
"Can you stay over? I'm actually worried about you, you haven't been sleeping and I don't want you driving tired like that" she told me.
It's true, two days ago driving to my house, I fell asleep on the road. Jay and I decided to stay with Joy overnight and my ass stayed up, waiting for Joy to make any slight changes. Luckily my daughter wasn't in the car, and whoever blew that horn at me, saved my ass from being crushed in a major accident.

"You're right. But this whole thing is stressing me out Ashley." I told her honestly. "I need my best friend back here with me man. It's killing me to see her in that bed every day. It's been a week and I just want to pick her up and shake her awake sometimes. I feel useless"
She came up and sat on my lap as she kissed the tears, that I didn't know was there, off my face.
"I know how hard this is for you. But you just need to relax. I don't want you to over stress yourself. You need to be here for your daughter" she said, and I knew she was right. I was really stressed and I took off from both work and school. I needed to get back into my routine of things. I just needed to get my mind right.
"Can I sleep over tonight?"

"Good night Daddy" Deidra called as she got into her bed. "Good night princess. And no sneaking snacks tonight, it's bed time" I told her. This girl loved stealing doritos in the middle of the night.
"Yeah okay, whatever" she said and I closed the door. She probably head some in her room already.
Sneaky ass.
"Ready for bed?" Ashley asked. She had on a silk white night gown, and her hair was up in one. "Uh, yeah imma go shower though" I said and went to do exactly that.
When I came out, Ashley was in there, startling me. "Ashley what are you-"
"I just wanted to brush my teeth, that's all" she said, and with the toothbrush in her hand proceeded to do so.
"So you couldn't just wait for me to get out the bathroom?" I asked and she rolled her eyes, and spat out the foam in her mouth. "Nothing I haven't seen before" she mumbled. I took the towel from around my waist and began drying myself. I saw Ashley look over to my direction, and I smiled. "Nothing you haven't seen before remember?" And she laughed as she washed out her mouth.
I put on my boxers and got into her bed. Minutes later, she did the same.
I couldn't help but put my arms around her. She settled into my body, making herself press against me. I couldn't help but get a small erection from that.
"Delano... I have to tell you something. I'm scared to tell you but.." she trailed of and she turned to me.
"Don't tell me you're pregnant again Ashley" and she laughed. She's laughing like I'm not dead ass, I am not mentally prepared for another one.
"No dummy, we use way too much protection for that to happen" she rolled her eyes playfully and smile. "I want you to know that you hold a very special place in my heart. You mean the world to me. You helped me bring a beautiful baby girl in the-"
"Ashley just say what it is on your mind" I told her. I really just want to know what she was thinking about instead of telling me this whole speech. No offense to her though.
"I still love you Delano... I think about you all the time. For the last four years I've been punishing myself for hurting you, not realizing that I was putting Deidra in harm as well. I don't deserve her just like I don't deserve you. But we're here together co-parenting our daughter. I really don't deserve any of this Lono" tears started streaming down her face and I came close to hug her. "Everyone deserves happiness Ashley. Even yo grumpy ass" I told her kissing her temple. She gave me a weak smile as I turned off the lamp, and got ready to sleep.
"He...me"
I heard Ashley mumble something, but I didn't exactly hear what she said.
"Hmm?" I asked pulling her closer. I heard soft sniffs chiming from her like she was crying and I pulled her so her face was to mine.
"What's wrong Ash-"
"He raped me" she confessed. Now she's balling I'm tears and I'm holding her. I still can't believe she been through so much. All because of Derrick.
" Hey, it's going to be-"
"He's been doing it since high school Delano..." she looked at me with those sad wet eyes.
"What." I said, beginning to see red. She can't be fucking serious.
