*Jermanie POV*
"Hey baby boy, how are you? I just wanted to let you know that I was in your area and I wanted to see how my boy is doing" my mom said. She called and I was still with Joy.
"Um, I'm okay mom. You have the keys to my house, I'm not there right now" I said. The nurse came and gave me a cup of juice. Then proceeded to feed Joy through the feeding tube.
"What happened, is everything okay?" My mom asked. I told her everything about Joy.
"Oh my god, is the girl okay, what's her name? My mom asked. I told her the story, without using her name.
"Joy."
"Did her parents visit her as yet?" My mom asked, concern in her voice.
"Well that's complicated... her parents aren't exactly around" I told her and my mom sighed. "Boy what does that even mean?"
"Well her mother past away when she was born, and her dad basically abandoned her. Treated her like crap cuz he believed that she was the reason behind the death of his wife" I explained.
Silence.
"What's her last name Jermanie?" She asked, making me more confused then I already was.
"Springs"
More silence.
"Ma?" I asked making sure she's still on the phone.
"What hospital are you in Jermanie?" She asked and I looked at my phone confused and put the phone back on my ear. "Mom you don't even know her, how are-"
"Give me the address boy!!" mom demanded and I eventually gave it to her and she was one her way here at that....
Within 45 minutes my mom came in the room. She stopped in the doorway, seeing me and seated beside an in-coma Joy. Tears welled up in her eyes as she slowly came forward. She touched her face, and yet there were no words said between me and her as yet. As she inched closer, I saw the tears streaming down her face as she touched her cheek.
"Joy..." was all she said and I didn't understand what was going on.
"Ma... what are you doing?" I asked as she looked up at me.
"Jermaine... there's a lot you don't understand..."Author's Note
Hey guys.
Thanks so much for reading this, I'm trying to prove to myself that I can finish a book. The journey is almost over and the secret is soon revealed!!
I'm going to say that if I think it's right, I will be doing a sequel to this book. I really enjoyed writing it, and I'm really in a better place to just creatively write all my ideas in one book.
Thanks for reading if you are and don't forget to vote!
