"Sheetal called us over tomorrow," Arnav realised. "That L75 must be planning to attack again," he deduced.

"Exactly," Akash agreed. "I tried to find the location from which the phone call was made. And it seems like L75 is heading towards Delhi. And if I'm right, then he should be here by tomorrow."

There was a moment of silence.

"They played us veery well," Arnav said, in a chilling voice.

"But now... it's time for US to play THEM."

Both Arnav and Akash smirked wickedly as they formulated a plan between them.

*******************************************************************

When Arnav finally put the phone down after talking to Akash, he fully turned so that he could fully take Khushi into his embrace.

He buried his face into the crook of her neck, before he let a lone tear escape his eye.

He realised how close he had been to losing his Khushi because of his ignorance and carelessness.

How many times had Khushi told him that she had a bad feeling about Sheetal? How many times did she warn him to stay away from her? How many times had she expressed her gut feelings about that vile woman?

But what had he done? He'd simply brushed them all away saying that he'd known Sheetal for years and he knew that she was a very nice girl.

Even when he knew that some things that Sheetal did were for her own selfish reasons, he'd managed to push away any warnings about Sheetal in his head.

If Akash hadn't done a background check on Sheetal today, then who knows what could have happened to Khushi.

Arnav knew that he would have caught that L75 Sunil, with or without Akash's background check on Sheetal. But he would never have suspected Sheetal. And when Sheetal had such murderous intentions towards Khushi, then even after catching L75, Khushi's life would still have been in danger without them even realising it.

Arnav couldn't control the tears that came running free in that moment.

Just the mere thought of something happening to Khushi, shook him to the core. If Khushi left him, there was no way he would be able to live.

When his mother had left him, he had somehow managed to turn his heart into stone and live on... But if Khushi left him after showing him what true happiness was, he would die. Literally. He wouldn't be able to take a single breath without her...

And thinking how much of a risk he had been putting Khushi under by ignoring her instincts... Gosh never would he ignore Khushi's words/instincts again. Ever.

Khushi opened her eyes drowsily when she felt something wet sliding down her neck.

It was only a few moments later that she was able to register that it was Arnav's tears.

"Arnavji?" she called, worried sick about why he was crying in the middle of the night after they'd shared such beautiful, intimate moments only a few hours ago.

Everything had seemed fine when they had slept – so what had happened between now and then? Did he have a nightmare?

"Arnavji?" She tried to cup his face so that she could pull him back slightly to see his face, but he buried his face deeper into her neck so that she couldn't do so.

Letting that attempt go, Khushi resorted to just putting her arms around him securely, one hand rubbing his back, while the other stroked his hair soothingly, showing him that she was there.
