"hehehe..." i thought as i heard a knock on the door
"that was quick.." i rushed opening the door.
but it wasn't ashley.
it was her mother.
"i'm so sorry melanie, but ashley went missing last night. sorry we didn't tell you earlier, but.." her mum started crying.
"w-wait what?! b-but i JUST texted h-her. s-she texted me back. she said she'll be right over." i sobbed.
"it's a cold winter. even if she just got lost, she probably didn't survive."
"n-no! it can't be! she can't be dead! she just can't! she mustn't!" i ran upstairs and cried.
