"JOE! Wake up! It's snowing!" Meri squealed happily, jumping on Joe. He groaned as she landed right on his stomach. "Sorry! I'm just happy," she said with a wide grin.

"I can see that," Joe mumbled in reply. He pushed her off him and she laid next to him on the bed.

"I wish your dad would let me sleep in here..." Meri mumbled. "I mean, we're adults. We can do what we want," she was lying on her back; looking at the ceiling and Joe was lying on his side, staring at her.

"There isn't really much room, though," Joe tried.

"So? We could at least have the option. I don't want to sleep in Zoe's room," Meri said.

"Well, her floor has more room for the blow up bed," he told her. Meri turned around and looked at Joe.

"I want to sleep in your bed," she whispered. Joe stared at her. She hadn't felt comfortable sharing a bed with him because she was still a virgin and thought they would be too close if she did. Joe had told his dad this so he'd put the bed in Zoe's room.

"You can if you want to," Joe said softly. Meri broke eye contact with him and started fiddling with the duvet.

"Jim told me not to do anything stupid..." she mumbled.

Joe took his hand out from under the covers and held Meri's hand. "We don't have to do anything together," he assured her. Meri smiled softly at him. "Meri, you're nineteen now, Jim doesn't control your life,"

"I know that. And I know that we don't have to do anything I just... what if we end up sleeping in the same bed and then –" Meri started.

"You get so blown away by my good looks that you can't help but do it?" Joe suggested. Meri laughed half-heartedly. "It's completely up to you, Meri. I'm going to wait for you to be ready,"

She nodded and then leaned forward a bit. They kissed passionately. "I really like you, Joe. You're a nice guy," Meri whispered.

"I really like you too," Joe replied with a smile. "Now, come on: wanna go sledging?"
