Joe was in the kitchen cooking chicken stir fry for Meri. She was still on bed rest and she was even more stressed than usual because her book had received an extremely harsh view in the papers and now she was getting accused of all sorts of stuff.

Her ten days of bed rest were almost up and she was very happy about that. Joe was as well. They ate their dinner together whilst watching Lost and then Meri leaned over and kissed Joe passionately on the lips.

"Meri..." he warned. "You're meant to be resting," he knew exactly what she wanted.

"Joe. The doctor said a week. It's been more than that now," Meri mumbled softly, putting her hand under his shirt.

"Has it now?" he whispered. Soon enough, the two of them were going at it pretty passionately. The door opened and Meri gasped.

"Sorry! God! I'm really sorry! I should have knocked!" Caspar stuttered loudly. He walked out of the room and closed the door. Meri sighed and leaned her head on Joe's chest.

"This is so ridiculous..." she muttered. Joe picked up the rhythm and soon they had both reached climax. Meri hadn't really been in the mood since they had been interrupted but didn't want to say no because they had both been waiting for ages to have sex.

"You feeling alright?" Joe asked her softly afterwards. They were lying next to each other. Joe had his arm around Meri.

"Yeah, I'm good Joe – actually, my stomach feels a bit funny," Meri replied. She got up and put on her pyjamas.

"Now you mention it, mine does too," Joe muttered. They both looked at each other and then rushed to the bathroom, throwing up into the toilet almost at the same time.

"Joe... what the fuck did you do?" Meri mumbled, groaning.

"How is this my fault?" Joe exclaimed.

"Well, you were the one that cooked dinner!" Meri replied. Then she threw up again. "Are you sure you even cooked it?"

"I don't... I must have. I'm not that stupid..." Joe muttered. "Oh God,"

Meri knew what was about to happen so rushed out of the bathroom as Joe sat on the toilet. She went upstairs. Caspar was playing Fifa. "Hey! Finished doing your thang now?" he laughed, smirking.

"Never say that again," Meri said seriously.

"Touchy, touchy," Caspar joked.

"I'm not in the mood Caspar. I think Joe poisoned me," she snapped. Caspar looked shocked.

"With his –" he started.

"No! He made dinner... well, that's what he says anyway," Meri replied.

"Oh, right. Are you okay?" Before she could reply, Meri threw up on the floor.

"Yeah. I'm fine," she said sarcastically. Caspar paused his game and rushed over to her. "Oh, God. I'm really sorry, Caspar,"

"It's alright. Just go and sit down, I'll clean this up," Caspar offered. Joe walked up the stairs. "Joe, you poisoned your girlfriend," Caspar said as he finished cleaning up.

"I poisoned myself as well," Joe mumbled. "I called my dad, he's coming over,"

"Why?" Meri asked. She was laying on the floor, on her back.

"Because Caspar has Amity and we can't look after ourselves... it must be salmonella, that lasts for a couple of weeks," Joe explained.

"Oh my God, Amity Fest," Meri muttered. "Fucking hell, Joe,"

"I'm sorry! It's not like I wanted to do this!" Joe shouted.

"Well, duh! But honestly Joe, how fucking difficult is it to cook food?!" Meri yelled in reply.

"Guys, stop arguing. That's not going to help matters. I'm gonna call a doctor..." Caspar said. He walked off with his phone to his ear.

"I'm really sorry, Meri," Joe tried.

"It's fine... I'm sorry I shouted at you. I just hate being fucking ill," she replied. She sat up slowly and he sat next to her. "You're never going to cook me dinner again,"

"Deal," Joe said. He took Meri's hand and then she leaned on his shoulder. "Fucking hell..." he muttered.

"Right... I guess I should let Dom know," Meri said.

...

"Wait, so Joe cooked you both food and now you can't stop throwing up?" Dom asked Meri for the third time. They were on skype together. Ruby and Daisy, Dom's daughters were also sitting with him.

"Yes Dom, and we won't be able to go to Amity Fest," she sighed.

"Well, are you sure it's food poisoning?" he asked.

"What else could it be?" Meri said.

"Maybe there's an alien that's impregnated you?" Ruby suggested. Daisy laughed and Meri smiled a little.

"Maybe..." she said.

"So, after you ate, did you do anything? Go for a run? Sit down? Like, what were you doing just before you threw up?" Dom questioned.

Meri blushed. "Well, we were kinda... just... ya know..." she said slowly, hinting at sex without saying it because his kids were there.

Dom frowned and said: "Weren't you meant to wait ten days before you did that?" he tutted.

"One week," Meri insisted.

"Well... maybe that... got your stomach a bit..." Dom said awkwardly.

"Dom, that wasn't what happened. We have food poisoning. I'm really sorry. Just know that Joe is never going near that kitchen again," Meri replied, still blushing. Then she made a face as her stomach turned. "Sorry, I'm going to have to throw up... I'll be back in a few seconds," she said quickly.

Meri rushed to the bathroom and vomited in the toilet. Joe walked into the room. "Fucking hell..." he muttered as he walked into the bathroom.

"Joe. Language, Dom's kids are on skype," Meri snapped.

"Thank you Meri!" Dom called.

"Welcome," Meri replied. "Now, I'm gonna finish talking to Dom and then I'm going to bed because I'm exhausted,"

"Okay. The doctor just did a blood test on me. Salmonella. Which means you most likely have it too but you have to go and get it checked," Joe replied.

Meri sighed and Joe talked to Dom instead as Meri went upstairs and had the blood test which showed she also had salmonella. "Great," she muttered. "This is just fucking great,"
