"Today, I have Meri today joining me today," Joe started to the camera.

"Really? Today? Do you wanna say that again?" Meri mocked. Joe laughed and put his head down in pretend shame.

"Today I have Meri with me and we're going to carve pumpkins!" Joe tried again, this time successfully.

"There we go," Meri laughed. They started carving pumpkins, throwing stuff at each other whenever they got annoyed. "Right, we're done," Meri said after hours of pumpkin carving.

"Not yet," Joe smirked. He grabbed the bowl with all the innards in and in one quick motion, dumped it all over Meri's head. She screamed. "Now we're done," he laughed.

"JOE!" she yelled. She shook off some of the gunk and threw it at Joe. It went straight in his mouth.

"Eww! That went in my mouth," he whined.

"You put it over my whole fucking head," Meri pointed out, giggling.

"Meri," Joe tutted at her swearing. He walked away from Meri as she tried to hug him and get pumpkin all over him. "No. Get away," he insisted, swatting at her.

"Never!" Meri laughed. Joe rushed away from her and she ran after him; laughing loudly. She leaped over to get to him and then slipped on some pumpkin on the floor. Her foot slipped and hit one of the chairs and she landed hard on her bum. "OW!" she whined as she whacked her head on the wall.

Joe laughed and doubled over. "Oh my God. That is karma!" he laughed, not realising how much she had hurt herself.

"Joe, that really hurt," Meri pouted. She put her hand up to the back of her head. It was wet. Maybe it was pumpkin? She looked at her hand. It was red. Joe was still laughing. Meri stumbled up to her feet and her head spun.

"Are you okay?" Joe asked with a grin.

"Yeah... yeah I'm fine..." Meri said weakly. And then black dots entered her vision and the room started spinning.

"Meri!" Joe shouted as she fell backwards. He half-caught her so that her head didn't hit the floor. "Oh my God, Meri?" he said.

She was unconscious. Joe put her carefully into the recovery position on the floor and then called an ambulance.

...

Joe held Meri's hand tightly from the chair next to her hospital bed. She was still unconscious and he was so worried. He had called Jim and him and Tanya were on their way. Joe knew that when Meri woke up, she would just be annoyed that Joe had called him but he didn't care. He just wanted her to be okay.

"Joe?" Meri asked softly.

"Meri! Thank God you're okay. I'm so sorry," Joe said quickly. Meri laughed slightly.

"I'm fine, Joe... what happened?" she asked.

"You don't remember?" he said with a worried look. The doctor walked in.

"I remember you threw pumpkin over me and then I threw it back at you... and you ran away from me and I tried to run after you..." Meri said.

"Ahh, Ms Chapman, good to see you awake. My name is Doctor Bondi," the doctor said.

"Oh, God, call me Meri, please. Ms Chapman makes me feel old," Meri joked.

"Okay, Meri. How are you feeling?" Doctor Bondi asked her.

"I have a headache," she answered. "But other than that, I'm fine,"

"And you don't remember the exact events leading up to your accident?" Doctor Bondi asked.
