SECOND BOOK: We'll Be Okay, Right?

"Mommy, Mommy!" Your six year old daughter, Serenity, rushes into the living room with a piece of paper in hand. "I have a present for Momma when she gets home." She informs you, holding out the said gift with a small hand.

"Wow, baby," You take the paper with awe. You examine the drawing on the paper for a few seconds before turning it towards your daughter. "You did this all by yourself?" Serenity bobs her head quickly. You hand back the paper with colorful scribbles and stick figures. "She'll love it." The child beams.

You both turn to the sound of the opening of a door and light footsteps. "I'm home!" You hear Sarah announce following the tell tale sound of the   door shutting. Serenity runs out of the room and down the hall to greet her. "Hello, baby girl!" You hear Sarah happily say. You finally stand and make your way to see the interaction between the two. You stand at the end of the hallway and lean against the wall to see Serenity holding out the paper to Sarah. The blonde puts her luggage down and grabs the drawing from her. "What's this, baby? Oh my!" A smile spreads onto the older woman's face. "It's beautiful."

"I missed you momma."

"Aw," You watched as your wife knelt down to be eye level with Serenity. "I missed you and mommy very much, Ser." You watched as she wrapped her lengthy arms around the small child. "I love you, baby girl.. So much. Momma's movie is almost over and we'll all be able to spend more time together, I promise."

"Hello beautiful," You finally make yourself known as they part away from one another. Sarah strides over to you and  snakes her arms around your neck, before promptly placing a gentle kiss to your lips.
