Chapter 8: Welcome To The Levi Squad

     In the morning, once you were dressed and in the mess hall having your breakfast, Hanji came to get you. "(f/n)!" She shouted. You and her were good friends so she called you by your first name, unlike some of the other officers. Once you heard your name you looked over to her, with a mouth full of bread. "Hm?" "Commander Erwin wants to see you." You swallowed and thought 'oh shit what have I don't now'. Then you began to walk in Hanji's direction. "Do you know where he is?" You asked. "His office." She said pointing to the hallway. "Thanks" You replied before leaving the hall and wondering what fate awaited you in the Commander of The Survey Corps's office. You thought and couldn't recall any recent actions that would land you In trouble so you were a little impatient to know why he had requested for you to see him.

     Once you reached the room you knocked on the door and heard a voice from inside. "Enter." You stepped through the door and spoke. "You asked to see me Commander." Erwin looked up at you from his papers with a smile. "Please, take a seat Cadet." As you sat down he continued. "Oh and you can relax, you've not been called her because you're in trouble." After he said that you seemed a little more confident and impatiently wondering why you were called here.

     "So, over your time spent in the Survey Corps you've become quite skilled in combat. And it is true that you are one of the best soldiers that we have." You looked at him as he spoke, wondering what point he was getting to. "Now you know that I notice your talent of fighting and your strength, that's why you've been moved from squad to squad. You need to be with other soldiers that are at your level and can help you progress further." "Yes sir." You answered. "For this reason, I believe your next move should be, again, to a more skilled squad." You nodded slowly "Okay." He continued, "In fact, I believe it's time you moved to our best squad." You looked at him, hoping that he was saying what you thought he was. He held out his hand to shake yours, "Cadet (l/n), welcome to the Levi squad" Your face lit up with joy and slight disbelieve. This is what you'd been aiming to achieve and now you were finally going to be part of the the most skilled squad in the Scouts, with the best of humanity's fighters. "Thankyou sir!" You shouted as you shook his hand excitedly. You had a huge grin on your face and Erwin smiled as he saw how happy this had made you. You suddenly thought though, "Umm, sir, I have one question..." "Yes cadet?" He seemed puzzled as to what it could be. "I thought it was up to Captain Levi to choose his squad members. I heard they were all hand picked by him." "Oh, he did pick you. We had a discussion a while ago about building back up his squad, seen as Eren was the only current member. So far there's You, him, and Mikasa." He answered. You smiled at this, knowing Levi had hand picked you to be in his squad. It made you feel appreciated. "Thankyou sir." He began to direct his attention back to his papers. "Dismissed soldier." You saluted and left his office quietly.

     Once you were outside you jumped up into the air and shouted "Yes!", unaware that there was anyone else around. "What's with the celebration (f/n)?" Asked Jean inquisitively as he was walking by. "Finally figured out your feelings for the Corporal?" He added with a grin. You gave him a short glare before explaining. "Actually... I just got promoted to the Levi Squad." You said cockily, still looking in Jean's direction. "Huh, so you're excited to spend more time with the best fighters, right?" "Mmhm!" You answered, not aware of where this was leading. "Especially Levi?..." He asked with another menacing grin over his face. "Y- hang on!" You stared at him again. "Dammit Jean." You said as you began to walk off to find Mikasa and Eren. You could hear him sniggering as he turned and walked in the opposite direction. "Welp. Might as well go and ask Eren and Mikasa how long they've known about people being added to the Levi Squad." You said to yourself as you wandered to the mess hall, thinking about Jean's comment.
