Not Another Average Soldier (Levi X Reader)

Chapter 9: The Old Sitting Room

     About a week had passed since you found out that you had been chosen for the Levi Squad. And as far as you, Eren, and Mikasa knew, there had been no one else added. You sighed as you made your way to line up with everyone else in headquarters. "Another week, another cleaning day." You said in an unenthusiastic tone. You just realised that Levi hadn't approached you about being in his squad at all, Erwin was the only officer that had mentioned it. "He's probably busy." You thought.

     You arrived just in time and were assigned your cleaning duties for the day. Today you'd be cleaning alone which was good because you didn't feel like interacting with other humans at the moment. You had to clean an old sitting room that was used for storage. It was from the days when this castle was owned and lived in by royals. You headed over there, duster in hand, and began to clean. "Why do we even have to clean unused rooms?" You asked yourself. "Well, I suppose there can't be a speck of dirt in this place if the clean freak's gonna stay happy." You said with a chuckle. You sometimes talked to yourself while you were alone. Either that or you'd sit and hum or sing. You loved music so much, your father was a musician who used to own a shop in Trost. Despite this, you had taught yourself to sing and play instruments. You and him were always arguing when it came to learning or teaching music.

     You had cleaned most if the room except for a large pile under a sheet that you'd been putting off until last. As you began to clean, you noticed it was an unusual shape."Hm? What is this?" You questioned. You removed the cover to reveal an old, black piano. You just stared that the instrument before you. "...wow." You hadn't played a piano for around two years but you were prepared to give it a try again. As you thought that though, you realised that you wouldn't have enough time to finish cleaning if you started to play the piano right now. Also people would probably hear and you might get in trouble. You thought it'd be best to come back to this another time, so you cleaned around the piano and then covered it back up once you'd finished.

     When you had done cleaning you let out a tired sigh. "Finally finished." You said as you sat down on the floor for a quick break. You began to relax but then you heard a voice from the doorway of the room. "Get up cadet. You'll dirty your uniform." You jumped up at Levi's voice. It surprised you and you almost lost your balance getting up. "Tck." He muttered as he walked off to check on the other cadets's cleaning. When you looked at the door, he was gone. "Oh my gosh that gave me a heart attack." You began to chuckle at what had just happened. "Welp, guess I should put the cleaning supplies back before I end up falling asleep." Your cleaning was up to standard, as usual, so you returned your supplied and headed for your room. You needed to get some rest, cleaning always tired you out. Once you arrived at your room, you got changed and laid down on your bed, falling straight to sleep. You were too tired to contemplate the day's events before resting.
