Chapter 2

The next day

In the morning I woke up with the feeling I had to go back to the opera house to get my wallet. 'Wait why would my wallet be at the opera house?'

I got up keeping as quiet as I could being careful not wake up the "queen".

I changed into a pair of black skinny jeans, a white thin hollister hoodie and a pair of white vans. I grabbed my purse and swung it over my shoulder as I placed the hood over my curly dark brown hair only exposing the the ends that fell almost past my shoulders.

I walked out the hotel room running towards the lobby to keep in time so I wouldn't be late for breakfast. At least the opera house was near the hotel.

"Would you like me to call a cab for you ma'am?" asked the bellboy. I thought for a second "How far is the opera house walking wise?"

The man shrugged unsure "I think, about 10 minutes" he guessed. I sighed deciding to walk, I didn't even have money anyway. "I'll walk thank you"

I made my way down the street towards the opera house. Luckily the doors opened the second I got there plus it was free to go in. I found one of the workers so I proceeded to ask him if anyone turned in a missing wallet but unfortunately he said no one has. So just to make sure I chose to go look down underneath the house. I was scared to go alone but I had to make that sacrifice because I would not be able to leave France if I did not have my passport.

My steps echoed down the halls of the underground yet I realized I heard other footsteps behind me. Before I could look to see who it was a gloved hand instantly covered my mouth as another hand pulled me behind a wall.

Desperately I tried to reach for my pepper spray that was secure in my purse. "Looking for this?" I saw that the mysterious kidnapper held my only safety in his hand. 'Shit' I exclaimed in my head.

I squealed in his hand hoping someone would hear me but the only response I got was the man aggressively guiding me onto a boat in the lake. He then used a thick rope to cover my mouth and regular ropes to tie up my hands so he could paddle to wherever he was planning to take me.

Tears of extreme fear and shock poured from my eyes as I knew I could do nothing. "Hush darling" the man came into my view revealing his half masked face. It was him again. My "hero" or in other words the Phantom.

I continued to sob throughout the whole trip which of course did nothing. Finally reaching our destination the Phantom helped me out of the boat as he then untied my mouth. I screamed as loud as I could taking my chance. "No one can hear" he simply remarked with a proud smirk.

I flashed a deadly glare at him "Who do you think you are?!" I spit angrily

The masked man gave an evil snicker "Good question, but perhaps it's more who do you think I am?" he reverted the question making me confused "I don't know who you are, that's why i'm asking you" I snapped.

He snickered as he flung off his cape showing off "In your mind I am sure it is telling you exactly who I am but you are scared to admit it."

I exhaled deeply expressing my fury in my eyes "Okay fine, I think you may be the Phantom. Happy!?" I roared out in annoyance.

He gave another evil snicker "ah yes, American?" he randomly questioned me. "Uh yeah" I cleared my throat changing back the subject "Why did you kidnap me?"

The man or whatever he was pulled out a wallet which resembled my own out of his pocket "To return this" he held it up teasing me. My hands remained tied behind my back so I could do nothing "So to do that you tie me up and kidnap me?" I yelled

A smirk played upon his lips "It was quite entertaining" I could not believe this guy "Well you had your laugh now let me go you jerk!"

He stayed perfectly calm and un affected by my remark."Now now, what's the rush? You just got here" he stated in a creepy tone.

"Look the FBI and CIA will find me. I am an American citizen and if I go missing my whole country will look and they will throw your ass in prison where it belongs" I shouted trying to scare him and of course it had no affect.

He erupted into a fit of laughter "My darling, you are very unique. I like you" I honestly did not like the way he said that. I was disgusted. "You are sick, you know that?"

"Dear, I am sorry if I seem like a jerk as you put it but if I were you I would be honored to be in the presence of the Phantom" he stated as if I was supposed to treat him like a huge famous celebrity but he was nothing to me.

I took my turn to laugh "honored? Your probably some thirsty ass bum who claims to be the Phantom" I went on "The Phantom of the Opera is a story and a musical, there is no such thing plus the story is more than a hundred years old"

He grinned widely which may have been more of a smirk "You admitted I may be the phantom though" just as I began to answer he cut me off "Do you believe in ghosts?"

I stayed silent afraid to hear he really may have been a ghost because something told me he was. "Ah you had to think twice, correct?" he gently took my arm and led me over to a strange bed. I was growing nervous wondering why he led me to the bed. "This is where the Christine Daae once slept when I kidnapped her"

He gestured me to sit down on the old mattress "Of course then I was a man" he sighed. Was he really a ghost? This must've been a dream. I closed my eyes and shook my head violently attempting to make myself wake up from reality. "I am sorry to inform you that would only give you a bad headache"

I fluttered open my eyes looking him straight in the eye "Why are you messing with me? You don't even know me. Please release me" tears once again threatened to spill out.

His now warmed gloved hand covered my cheek as his thumb wiped the watered corner of my eye "If you promise me one thing" he took over our gaze putting me under his spell.

I gulped realizing how close our faces were. "What is it" I breathed out in a whisper. "You visit me tomorrow morning"

I pulled back furrowing my eyebrows "Why would I do that?" The phantom had a sly smile "I know you will, do to the curiosity in your eyes" he pointed out

Would I even after what he has put me through? My phone went off drawing both of our attention on my purse which was still hanging off my shoulder.

"Shhh" The phantom carefully pulled out my iphone 6 and studied it with complete confusion "What is this?" he asked in bewilderment

"It's an iphone, it's touch screen and that is my boyfriend who is calling" I grumbled annoyed that now he had my phone.

"We will talk more tomorrow, I know you will keep you promise" he stuffed my phone, wallet and pepper spray back inside my purse.

His hands rose me back up then led me back down to his small boat "Do not tell anyone" he warned me with his serious blue eyes.

Rowing on we made it back to the place where I was taken. He slowly untied me and helped me back out on the cement. His gloved hand slowly slid down my arm to my hand then he brought up my hand to his lips leaving a soft kiss on top of it causing goosebumps to form all over. "Good bye"

I watched him disappear in the mist which sent sudden shivers down my spine. 'What the fuck just happened?' I immediately ran up the long stairway back into the lobby.

"Madam!" The same worker from earlier sprinted over to me "Did you find it?" I nodded slowly as I awkwardly staggered to the door "Uh thank you" I waved before I exited out of the building.

I was merely fast walking back to the hotel while the sun shone bright on my face. I hoped I was not late for breakfast and I hoped I would be able to act normal even after what had just happened. Questions still invaded my mind though, was I really gonna consider visiting that creepy ass phantom?
