Chapter 13

(Kinda Warning)

**Jacqueline's POV**

I was running out of breath due the little air in the many tunnels under the opera house. As my legs carried me deep within the caverns darkness begin to engulf my surroundings. Before I knew it the darkness began to take over my vision causing me to stumble back. I expected to crash onto the rocky ground to my death but instead I felt arms safely catch me before I made impact. By that time without thought I fainted into the strong arms that carried my limp body.

Suddenly I felt a hand run through my hair softly as a warm breath entered my ear "I will protect you" the whisper was so gentle and familiar but my mind was not in the right place to think. I instantly fell back asleep feeling safe for the first time.

I then awoke to the sound of footsteps entering the room. In that moment everything came back to me. Yet I never knew who saved me. I sat up in an instant seeing a pair of surprised jade eyes gazing at me.

"Nadir?" I gasped anxiously trying to climb off the rock I was laid upon. I was trying to get away from the two idiotic creeps wasn't I?

Nadir cleared his throat as he awkwardly stood there at the door. "You fainted" he stated innocently.

I nervously patted down my clothes and fixed my hair "Yeah I think I get that, it's a habit" I sarcastically remarked as I scanned the room looking for a way to escape.

Again I caught his gaze, for the next couple of seconds we just gazed at eachother then at that moment I had a plan. The way he looked at me was out of lust or maybe he was in love with me but he kept it secret. I could use his feelings for me to my advantage.

I swallowed my fear making my attempt even though I was a bit unsure and nervous about it. 'I could lure him to' I thought to myself. 'If they could do it I could even if I was mortal'

Forcing on a confident smile I made my move. I casually inched towards him closer and closer. "What are you-" I silenced him with my lips and luckily as I planned he kissed back.

It was a pretty rough desperate kiss like, this guy or ghost hadn't had a girl for sometime now so it must have been a wish come true for him to have some girl kissing him.Especially a girl he had an eye on for quite a while now.

Deep into the kiss I took my chance to reach into his pocket to swipe the key. He however took my action as something more giving me little time left to unlock the door.

Guilt was now taking over me but I forced myself not to pity him.

This was my chance. I pulled away and apologized as I reached the door unlocking it. "I'm sorry again, uh you're a great guy" with that I took off running leaving him in confusion and hurt. Good job self for giving him another reason to hate me.

For some strange reason I started tearing up for what I did so I stopped where I was and turned back around running back over to him.

He was still there slouched down on the ground with his hands covering his face. Great look what I did.

"Aye" He looked up at me with a small smile that tugged at his lips.

I sat down beside him returning his key "I'm really sorry for doing that. It was a pretty dick move but really Nadir I can't help you guys. You must help release me" I explained to him truthfully

Nodding his head in agreement he took my hand in his looking me deep in the eyes "I will do anything for you" I was taken aback by his willingness to help me after what I just did to him.
