Chapter 12

**Jacqueline's POV**

I woke up to the sound of music playing from the outside. I slowly rose up yawning searching the room. It didn't occur to me that I was basically knocked out, my head ached in pain but I forgot about why and how.

It also didn't take long for me to realize I was in Erik's lair. "Erik?" I walked over to the luring music seeing the masked man playing swiftly on the keys of his organ.

He was so into it I was afraid he'd probably shout at me for interrupting his peaceful time. Why was I still here and why did my head hurt like hell?

"Jacq" The phantom perked up from his organ giving me a soft smile. "Why am I here still?" I questioned

Erik sighed shrugging looking away from me as if he was hiding something from me. "You um fainted. Perhaps you were overwhelmed by excitement" he stated in an eerie tone. Something told me he was lying.

"Ohhhh" I looked around rubbing the bump which was pounding the top of my head "I have a strange bruise forming on my head, did I hit something when I fainted?"

Erik seemed to be anxious and irritated "Maybe you did, I don't know." He turned back around writing on his old faded papers.

I was now growing curious, did he have something to do with it? "Erik I um, I'm gonna go now" I quickly strolled over to his boat only to be cornered by Nadir.

"Leaving already" Nadir stepped closer to me causing me to grow a bit nervous by his wicked smirk.

"I must, i-it's getting late ya know" I stumbled back on my feet catching my balance before I fell on my butt.

Nadir nodded "Oh yes but why not stay longer, my dear" he held his pocket watch in his other hand messing with it as he gave me the same smirk.

My breath grew shaky, I felt like I didn't even know these guys anymore I mean you know. "I have to s-see J-James." I felt around my shoulder for my purse straps but it was gone.

I backed into Erik who peered at me lifting my purse up "Looking for this?" he amusingly grinned. Great not this again.

"Okay r-really funny E-Erik, please hand that over" I gulped trying to retrieve my breath.

Erik snickered "Haven't you already figured it out?" Figured out what? What was going on? Why were they acting this way?

"N-no I haven't, t-tell me" I felt myself start to shake uncontrollably. I was being gained up on by two guys or ghosts. The closer they got the more anxious I became. They could do anything to me and I could do nothing to defend myself.

"Darling Jacqueline" I looked up, my lips nearly touched Erik's. Without another thought I passed out in his arms. My biggest fear may had become a reality. I never thought I would be in such a situation like this. All I could do was pass out and give up.

**Phantom's POV**

I sighed as I caught Jacqueline "Again" I forced a slight giggle out

Nadir chuckled but then silenced as his attention focused on the ground. "What is it my friend?"

The Persian cleared his throat looking back up at me "We have a problem" he stated in a worried tone

Slowly I picked up Jacqueline bridal style keeping full attention on Nadir "What problem?" I asked

"I met a good friend of hers who has declared war on us. He insists he will save Jacqueline. He also has James hidden from us. It's like he knows our whole plan" he informed me in concern

"So let us fight with him, you know we would win. He may have had a lucky guess about what was going on." I shrugged it off, I had no fear over some weak mortal.

Nadir shook his head this time not agreeing like he used to "Erik, I've been thinking and I believe this will not be as successful as you say. I think she is helping the boy"

I laughed silently "No she doesn't even speak to us anymore. There is no way she would do that. Have faith about our plan Nadir, must you be so negative"

The daroga showed no emotion, only guilt. "Erik I also feel this is wrong" I snorted, he was begging me to go for this and now he was wanting us to back out? This was our ticket to freedom.

"Wrong?" Nadir stuffed his watch into his pocket as his gaze wandered over to Jacqueline who was rested peacefully in my arm. I recognized the look he gave her, it was the look I once gave Christine. "Erik, I know at first I was for this plan but we are only losing her trust. We are scaring her. You can't force her to love you, you should know already what that does" his eyes moved back up to mine.

Ignoring curious and jealous thoughts, I spoke up in a serious tone "This will work whether if you want it to or not. You want freedom and we shall have it so shut up before I ban you from here"

"You can not ban me but I will however help you still even if I do not agree with this-" I cut him off "You always do that so don't think I'm so surprised" I carried Jacqueline back over to my bed and laid her down. After Nadir and I discussed about how we could easily take down this friend of hers. This actually was turning into a fun game. I missed these fun games I would play but this time I was sure to win.

**Jacqueline's POV**

It all pieced together, Erik was actually kidnapping me this time for real to help free him. I knew deep down he was completely wrong, it wouldn't work out for him. Once he realizes that he would most likely end up killing me so he would not be alone here in his lairs. He would have the advantage of female company.

I shot open my eyes and jumped out of his bed. The thought of me being the only woman he could take advantage of freaked me out. I would die and be his forever.

Without hesitation I sprinted down the other side of his lair making my official break out. I could care less about my belongings all I cared about was being safe from this freak.

I heard endless cursing shouts from where I took off but I did not care. I wanted to get out as fast as I could. I knew not of where I was going I only hoped the path took me out. It probably didn't but maybe I could get far away from Erik and his servant.

I continued down dark shadowed halls of the cave ignoring the excruciating pain in my head. I kept telling myself it was worth it. I hoped it was.

Hope you enjoyed this chapter. I am actually updating the next chapter right after cause I wrote it a long time ago hehe. So just so you know I will be doing an author's note on that one and no it is not done yet lol.
