"Dad!" Was all I could say. Everything happened so fast, I couldn't remember anything.
"Dad, answer me!" Still no response. I searched my purse for my phone. I reached for the door handle of my dad's Mercedes. His second baby. I'm sure it's a wreck.
I stepped out of the car and walked out of the ditch. The front of the car was smashed beyond belief. The first car i've ever driven, my dad's pride and joy. Wrecked.
I walked to the drivers side, opened the door and stared at my father. He wasn't moving."Dad this isn't funny!" I tried to feel for a heartbeat. Nothing. "This isn't happening." I said out loud as I fell to the ground and dialed 9-1-1 on my cellphone. I blinked a couple times hoping to wake up from this nightmare. Nothing changed.
I zoned out.
*~*
I was skating, looking at the clock I realized my dad would be here any minute. I wish I brought my own car. My car needed work and was low on gas.
"Just go, i'll fix your car and drive the Mercedes to pick you up afterwards."
"Dad, it's storming, I won't be done until late, I can miss one night." Trying to convince my dad once he had his mind made was useless. He knows how great my passion for skating, and dance is. He also made sure I kept my grades good so I could get into a decent college for skating and dancing.
"Brooke go!" He said as he handed me the keys to the arena. I called Drake to give me a drive.Five minutes later I was on my way to my favorite escape place.
"I'll talk to you later, Drake" I said as I stepped out of his Honda Civic.
"You sure you don't want me to pick you up? I can leave work." Drake offered.
"No," I answered." You'll get fired if you leave again because of me."
Now here I was, waiting for my dad. Then I saw him pull up.
"Brooke, I think your mother and I are splitting up." Was the first thing he said. "I caught her cheating, again."
"Dad please, not tonight." I told him, I was tired out. Mom cheating was getting to be a never ending story.
"I can't take it anymore, Brooke. I love her to death but the fighting and lies are never going to stop." Dad always told me his problems, ever since I was a little girl. I was like his only friend. I usually went to him with my problems as well. Even before I went to my mother. Most girls need their mother the most in their life, me I needed my dad.
I sighed, looking over at him.
"I love you, Brooke. More than anything. This is just what it has to be. I left a letter for you , it's on...."
*~*
"9-1-1" What's your emergency?" I snapped back to reality. "I was in an accident. Dad's not breathing. Please HURRY!"
