Brooke:
I can't believe it.
I'm 30 weeks today.
In just ten more weeks i'll have my little peanut in my arms. Everything around the house was ready and waiting for him. The only thing that wasn't ready was his name. I have been telling people over the past few weeks that I was keeping it a secret, but really I had no idea.
I was cooking breakfast when my phone went off. It was from Jeremy. He has been staying at his place for the past week. I told him two weeks ago that if we were only going to be just friends then I needed my space. Friends don't spend pretty much every night together for a month. As far as I knew he still had a girlfriend so it just didn't feel right, him playing us both like that. It has been quiet without him around though. That's why I didn't need to do much thinking to the text he sent me.
" Hey beautiful. I have been missing you. I understand you needing your space and all. But I just wanted to let you know that being away from you has been killing me. it has made me do a lot of thinking. I ended things off with Ashley tgey night you told me you needed space. Now sitting at my appartment with only school and work to keep me busy I realize I need you in my life. As more than a friend. Brooke, will you be my girlfriend?"
I just got the whole text read when my phone buzzed again.
"By the way, I love the name Brantley."
Within minutes I replied.
"Yes I will be your girlfriend, and I have been missing you too."
There. It's official. My first relationship. This was definitely going to take some getting used to, but it would totally be worth. I feel so safe around Jeremy. He makes me so happy, even when I'm on the verge of crying.
I tried calling Jenn but there was no answer. It was almost like she ignored my call. Weird. I hope Jeremy didn't tell her already. It should be up to me to do that.
Minutes later my phone rang. It was my aunt.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Can you come over for a few? I need to talk to you." She sounded pretty serious.
"Sure thing." I hung up the phone, grabbed my keys, and ran out the door. I didn't even bother with doing my hair and make-up or getting dressed.
When I got to her house there was a few cars out front. This worried me so I rushed inside.
"SUPPPPRRRRIIISEEEE!!!" I jumped. Totally wasn't expecting that. When my heart calmed down I looked around the room, trying to figure out what was going on. Was it my birthday or something?
"Congratulations on your baby boy" A banner hung over the entrance to the kitchen. Under it stood Jenn. She must of arranged me a baby shower!
I walked towards her and gave her a hug. "Thank you!" I said then turned to my aunt hugging her as well.
There was so many people that I didn't even know. It was nice to have a crowd around even if they were way older than me. I really appreciated what my aunt and best friend have done for me. I just wish I had a little warning so I could of gotten out of my pajamas, and did something with myself.
It was a great turn out. I received $250 in card money, two boxes of diapers, a baby bath tub, a play mat, three boxes of wipes, a stroller, fifteen outfits, a couple bath sets, some baby lotion, a bouncy seat, a "Mommy Box" full of treats, gift cards, books, a shower set, etc. There was a lot more gifts too. I have no idea where I'm going to put everything. I was grateful though.
