"unique" opinions

i just need to get this out of my system

okay

unique is a great word
it symbolizes that u are different
and if u have a unique opinion in something, great!
but if that opinion is problematic
boy, we are gonna have a problem

because, a few weeks ago me and my friends had a discussion about being white/swedish/british
and one of my friends say
"white people are the most oppressed race in media"
a n d i a l m o s t t h r e w a f u c k i n g f i t

this opinion is often viewed as a "unique" opinion bc we get little part in discussions about race and we are constantly made fun of
but i think it's fucking good for us, honestly
bc we take up most of history
we have oppressed other races
we live on privilege while poc are oppressed everyday and looked down on
some of us have it s o f u c k i n g e a s y while poc are killed everyday because of their skin color
i can find a thousand dolls who looks just like me while poc have barely one
i see movies with actresses who have the same skin color as me all the time
but rarely someone who doesn't
if we put in lbgtq+, straight people can walk freely while i may get shot for loving some of my own gender
straight people don't get shot because of who they love

so when u try to say that white/straight people are oppressed in media, fucking accept it
because even when u think we are oppressed, we are not
people still write hate on media to people because of their skin tone or their religion
people get angry when traditional white roles go to poc
but don't batt an eye when
directors still pick white actors for parts that are meant for poc
an artist whitewashes su characters bc they are poc
she gave ruby a penis so the relationship would be straight

these opinions are not unique at all
because every fucking white person has had it once in their life

to my fellow straight/white people:
when u whine and come with these unique opinions remember that it's not ur place to speak
u don't know what oppression feels like, so shut the fuck up
