It's Not Goodbye (Zera And Mavis Fan Fic)

Chapter 5

    Before we know it the sun has started to rise. when it slowly started to get lighter out we decided to head back towards the guild hall. I subconsciously let out a yawn, stretching in the process. Mavis looked over at me speaking in a soft tone, "you don't have anywhere to sleep right now do you?"

I nod slightly as I felt my eyes get heavy. "The only down side is I have no money, I highly doubt your country would accept yen..." I let my sentence trail off realizing how much of a serious situation I was in. For now I was following Mavis, she was humming softly hands behind her back, I took a good look at her. Her hair flowed down to about the small of her back with a pair of wings resting just above her ears. She wore a simple dress, it was pink for the most part, almost looking like a dress a southern belle would have worn. that's when I realized she was barefoot. "don't your feet hurt from walking around barefoot all the time?" I ask her.

    She turns her head round to look at me, "you have to remember I'm actually not really alive so it doesn't really matter." she says matter-of-factly, "but even when I was alive I never really wore shoes unless I had to. I found it more freeing this way." She twirls around making her dress flutter in the wind.

    I blushed looking away, "I-I see." I stutter.

    She giggles softly turning back around, "and were home!" She hops the rest of the way to the front door of the guild hall, opening it with ease, motioning for me to go first.

    If she really was a ghost, why can she interact with things, let alone me being able to touch her, I think to myself, though I know I will find out in due time I promised myself, for now I was happy just to know she wasn't completely gone.

     When we enter the guild it was deserted, the only one there was Mira who looked like she was just about to leave, when she saw us enter together she when white as a ghost. "You can see her????" She asks me wide eyed.

    "Yea, so I take It you can too?"

    "I was told only fairy tail members could see her, strange....." she let her sentence trail off as she looked between the two of us.

"so you knew?" I looked at her realizing she lied to my face.

    She sighs before looking at me sadly, "I'm sorry, I really am. Its just that Mavis here is one of the biggest secrets of the guild, I couldn't tell you no matter what, though I'm glad everything worked out!" she smiles weakly hoping I wasn't too mad.

    I yawn again, "its OK, I understand..... Perchance do you know anywhere I could sleep for a few hours....? I wish I had some money to offer but I'm broke...."

    There was a long pause between the three of us before Mavis near squealed in excitement causing both me and Mira to jump from the suddenness of it, "fairy hills!!!"

"What's fairy hills?" I ask, kinda shocked from her sudden outburst.

"It's a dorm room for those that don't rent a place in town so they can be close to the guild" she speaks quickly showing the innocent carefree nature I knew from her.

"What about paying rent, I don't have any money from your world remember....?" I remind her.

    That's when Mira Jane chimed in, "don't worry about that, until we know how or why your here you can stay for free, I'll smooth it out with the master in the morning. for now, go get some rest. Mavis could you take zero up there? as for me, my beds calling me." She smiles sweetly at us as she leaves the building, "have a good sleep zero" and with that Mira slipped out of sight from the two of us.

   I offered my hand to Mavis, "shall we be going?" I ask trying to act as confident as I could considering how tired and out of sorts I really was.

    She wrapped her hand around mine, giggling like a school girl, "lets"
