Mavis' POV:

I came back to the guild hall wiping my tears finding my way to Makarov. He was sitting with a very stern look on his face. He knew what was coming, the largest war to ever be waged here in Fiore.

"are you sure this is the right call first master?" He asked me curtly.

"yes, If Zero stayed he would have hindered anywhere he tried to help. This way he can live a happy life where he belongs...." The words felt hollow on my lips, but I had to be strong. Now wasn't the time for personal feelings. We had to keep Fiore safe. "have you gotten in contact with the other guild masters?" I asked.

He nods slightly, "they will be here tonight, same with the members of the royal guard" He crosses his arms, "how bad is this going to be?"

"its going to be close.... Even with it being just an Island nation, they have quite a bit of strength behind them. though were not pushovers this could be the largest fight any of us have ever fought."

"with you leading us Mavis, I have full confidence in your ability to lead us first master."

Even Though I knew I had so much on my plate I couldn't help but think of Zero....

Zero's POV

Every day after school I went to an abandoned warehouse where I practiced my abilities. most of the time I went passed my own strength and ended up fainting. Usually when I came to Takeshi was by my side with a meal. Even though it had been a week since I was sent back I felt a lot stronger than when I left Fiore. I tried opening the portal today but I guess it was still too much for me.

I sat on the floor of this abandoned building looking up through the cracked sky lights wondering what Mavis was doing. Or if Natsu and Gray had gotten into another fight, if so Gray was mostly likely streaking by this point. I chuckled getting a confused look from Takeshi, I waved off his unanswered question, "just thinking about fairy tail is all...."

"You never told me what your going to do when you get back there. "he said sitting across the open room on a wooden box with tonight's dinner.

"if the war is still going on, ill do my part."

"if not?"

I hadn't thought about that far ahead, she sent me away after all. Just seeing the shocked expression on her face would be enough, just to show her I'm not giving up that easily.... but at the same time would she even give me that chance?

"I don't know" I say, slowly starting to do some curl ups not wanting to waste time, but not ready for another bout of using my magic. "all I know is I have to try, I owe it to Zera to give it a go, if it wasn't for here I wouldn't be here now"

"and Zera is the you from the other world right?" He says a little confused still trying to process everything that I  told him.

"exactly, some how I can speak to her every once in a blue moon now that I actually know why I have the memories."

He nods and I grunt in exertion already knowing I'm pushing my body past its limits but I didn't care, I needed to keep moving no matter how much pain I was going to be in tomorrow since its my rest day from training. I could just picture all my friends locked in a battle for their lives and it was killing me that I wasn't there.

"what did I miss in school today?" Since coming back I would show up for a few classes a week just enough not to make everyone around me worry.

"nothing really spectacular, Kyon struck out with another girl, Which makes 7."

I lay flat panting softly feeling my muscles in my gut burning, "how does someone have that much bad luck with women?"

"dunno, we all cant have a good looking girl from another world waiting for us."

"I don't think shes waiting...." I mutter under my breath,

    "why do you say that?"

    "she sent me here right?"

"yea for your own good, look everything you've done already, since you started training you can manifest about half a dozen objects ranging in size. When you started It was hard to do two."

"But will I be ready in time though...." I think aloud.

"I know you will buddy, but for now." Takeshi Gets up from where he was sitting bringing over dinner. "eat, I brought stir fry tonight."

"what would I do without you Takeshi." I chuckle.

"probably starve." He retorts.

I looked at my light blue guild mark that was resting on my wrist as  We ate in silence, he was a damn good cook. I could see him getting a job as a chef at a top end restaurant one day. as for me, I had no clue, I could always live over in Fiore and just do odd jobs with the guild but, I look over at Takeshi, Would I be able to just forget about where I came from? Only time would tell....

**Several weeks later***

    Mavis' POV

The day after I sent Zero home, Aldonia made their move, They hit Hargeon Faster than anyone could have anticipated, Mermaid heel ended up having to abandon the town within the first few days of fighting. Each time I think I have a strategy to push them back, they change up their tactics making it impossible to make any headwind. each day they come closer and closer to Magnolia. Even though we have the numbers advantage over them, they seem to have almost a counter to whatever we throw at them. We have set up a defensive line around Magnolia, if they make it through this, Fiore will be lost.

Everyone was in position, Sabre tooth in the north, Mermaid heel to the south. Blue Pegasus took the east which left Us to the west. everyone had a grim face on. they knew what this battle meant. we saw the dust cloud forming up on the Horizon. It looks like they were coming in from the west. I ordered Sting and Rogue to come join us, I wanted as much muscle over here as possible.

By the time they arrived, the main army of Aldonia had hit our lines bushing us back like I expected, I was hoping to surround them having mermaid heel and sabre tooth come in to form a encirclement as they focused on us. Watching everyone fight from the top of the cathedral using Warren to issue my orders.I hated being this far back from the front lines, but I agreed with Master Makarov this would be the best place for me. I saw that Wendy had gotten separated from her group and was now surrounded, Before I could try and organize a rescue attempt I saw Sherria cut through those that stood in her way and before long was back to back with Wendy both girls having a smile on their faces.

As the day pressed on it was looking like we were finally going to win a battle when A shadow covered the battle field. I looked behind to see a ship, Larger by at least three times to Christina. It loomed over the city heading this way to unleash who knows what. My mind was trying to figure out some way to take it down I felt a sudden Rush of Magic energy, almost on the same level as Natsu's. I looked over to see a cloaked figure wearing full armor. Green in cover in a design Ive never seen before, his face covered by a helmet, his visor hiding his eyes from me.

This man had come from a door, a door connected to nothing, yet the interior shone bright and blinding. He surveyed the battle zone below us as it almost spilled into the streets of Magnolia by this point, then to me, where he stared for longer than the battlefield, I think debating on weather Warren and I are a threat. then he took into view the behemoth that dotted our skies. He pulled out a small piece of metal and it slowly started to take shape in his hands turning into a weird looking staff with a bulbous end. as he let it rest on his shoulder I saw something that made my blood run cold.

On his wrist just barely noticeable at this distance, a small light blue insignia. The mark of Fairy Tail!
