It's been about three weeks since I joined fairy tail. Each day seems to be better than the last. I never knew I could laugh as much as I have these past few weeks. Just Seeing everyone being so rambunctious and lively but also caring for each other is a complete change from what I'm used to.

I ended up helping Mira around the guild hall since I still haven't figured out the whole magic thing yet, But it is enjoyable. I helped bus tables as well as clean up at the end of the day. Every day I pester Gray to give me a lesson on the basics of how to use magic, usually he caves and we go out back where there is plenty of space for me to learn. By the end of the day I'm dragging myself back to fairy hills battered from the training Gray's got me on, and then repeat.

I'd spend a good chunk of the night up talking back and forth with Mavis, telling her about everything and anything I could think of from my world. She hung on every word I said. The one thing that blew her mind the most was when I talked about television and movies. she even made me promise that if we found a way to cross back over I had to take her to a movie of her choice.

Mavis and I have gotten close,  I feel deep down in my gut I want to be with Mavis but I cant seem to figure out a good way to ask her out. Most date ideas that pop into my head I cant use like going out for a romantic meal because I would be holding a conversation with the air to everyone else that was in the restaurant might be find it creepy. Or even the fact that Mavis doesn't need to eat.

I groan as I slam my head down on the communal kitchen table at fairy hills, which resonated throughout the building. I knew in my heart I loved Mavis, These three weeks solidified that fact but I'm just so inexperienced that I had no clue what I should do.

"having woman problems?" A gruff voice that was filled with authority came from behind me.

I looked up to see Laxus, the guild masters grandson standing in the doorway. he had his arms in a permanently crossed way across his chest leaning against the door frame having a serious expression staring down at me. His gaze was so strong I had to look away leaning forward on the table.

"speak up will you." He slowly walks towards me sitting across from me. I think this is the most he has spoken to me since I first joined up with this dysfunctional troop.

"well.... I want to do something special for Mavis but I don't know what to do..... its not like I could take her on a proper date you know? I feel like a bit of a disappointment not being able to use magic......"

He was silent a long time. That's one of the things I like about Laxus, Hes quiet but when he speaks, Its something you need to hear., he never wasted a single word he uttered.

"you know," he starts before making me look at him, "what you and Mavis have is something more than any of us could ever get. You came from another world just to see her, even though it wasn't a conscious choice on your part. She knows how you feel, she might be a bit of an airhead and completely lost in her own world but shes the smartest person in this entire guild. It doesn't have to be a big gesture, just something that means something."

He saw my lost expression and sighed while shaking his head, "take her on a romantic picnic or something. She may not eat, but still pack food and some drinks. and if you want to do a gift think of something that is unique to either her or something that will remind her of you." He motions to the fridge. I nod in understanding grabbing him a beer passing it to him. He grunts his gratitude as he cracks it. "better get planning lover boy" he smirks.

"thank you Laxus, I really mean it." I say as I make my leave from the kitchen. I ended up walking back to my room. "First I would need a  location" I mutter to myself, musing aloud. Even though I've been here for three weeks I'm still unsure about where would be a good spot for a picnic. That's when it hit me. I had the perfect spot after all. I quickly ran out of fairy hills passing Laxus along the way, A smirk plastered on his lips.

   The next day.

I rolled my bike gently to the front of the guild, it being the first time I've used it since coming here due to the lack of gas and not knowing if i can convert it to a lacrema crystal for power. I hop off my bike walking inside the guild seeing master Makarov sitting beside Mavis talking while overseeing the usual shenanigans of the guild, though it was a lot quieter because Gray, Natsu, Erza and Lucy were on a job. I internally smiled at the fact that Mira may get a day of peace and quiet for once. As I sat beside Mavis, who beamed ear to ear when she noticed me, Mira walked over and I could already see what was on her mind. She has been pestering me non stop about what I was planning to do with Mavis since she first saw a grocery list I drew up yesterday.

She saw the look on my face and knew what I was going to ask Mavis. This was enough for her and she giggled like a school girl as she turned to go back to her duties. Just as she turned I saw a small piece of reflection from her so I tried to study it before she turned her back, It was an earring. Not any earring, but a lightning bolt design. So Mira and Laxus hmmmm..... I thought to myself not being able to hold back a smirk now wanting to tease Laxus over it but also fearing for my life in the process.

That's when I turned my attention to Mavis. I took a deep breath trying to muster my courage before I chicken out. I reach out and tap Mavis' shoulder. She turns to me without missing a beat looking up at me with her big green eyes.

"you know how you always wanted to try out my bike right?" she nods slightly eyes growing wide at the prospect of my next choice of words. "wanna go for a ride?"

She smiles brightly as she hops off of her seat, "really!?!" I chuckle giving a reassuring nod before getting up myself offering my hand, Which she takes and we walk towards the door. that's when the master pipes up, "Mavis."

She looks back seeing a stern looking Makarov, I swear he looked ready to lash out something or someone, which is weird. Normally the master was fun loving and quick to party but this.... "we still have a lot to discuss, first master." he said curtly.

"I know, I promise I wont be out too late, we will continue when I'm back." I've never heard her voice so serious before. whatever I had interrupted was something big . she looks back at me before taking her cheerful tone again, "shall we?"

I nod not knowing if I should comment, As I look at her I catch a glimpse from her, one of a brooding thought looming on the edge. I knew better than to poke a sleeping bear, especially with the date I've got planned.

the two of us walk out to my bike hand in hand. As we near it, Mavis stops just short staring at it debating if she really wants to ride it or not.
"How does it work again?" She asks quietly gaze glued on it.
"In essence it sparks a fire which is fueled by gasoline, a flammable liquid and the energy it creates is what drives the engine." I answer truthfully as I hop on it starting it up making it roar loudly.
Mavis jumps slightly at the sound before taking a deep breath and hopping on behind me. "wrap your arms tightly around me OK?" I tell her.

She nods doing as I said hugging me tightly, I slowly got us going down the street, slowly at first because I wasn't used to riding with anyone.

It didn't take me long to retrace my steps out of town, this confused her greatly, "where are we going?" She asks.
"Don't worry you will know soon enough." I say cryptically.
With that she grips my tightly as I tear down the road hearing her voice squeal in glee from the rush. As I get off the main road we find ourselves overlooking the town on the same hill from where I saw Magnolia when I first arrived.
A blanket had been laid out in advance, a bottle of champagne in a bucket of ice with a wicker basket sitting in the center of it. As I shut the engine off I can here Mavis take it in letting out a soft gasp. "You did this for me?"
"Well I really like you Mavis, And I was wondering if it was OK to maybe think of this as a date...?" I grimace getting off my bike helping her afterwards.

"It's perfect" she smiled gently kissing my cheek gently before rushing off to it.

I owe you one Laxus. I smirk following after this quirky girl I've fallen for.
