Chapter 20 - Morphine

Underneath the night sky about trailed down the pathway behind the leafs gate with Sakumo in his arms. He knew before he could live in peace with this child he had to accomplish one thing. Taking Kabuto down. The Uchiha was well aware that Kabuto was going to destroy the leaf after their agreement of having the baby. Obito held the baby tighter and his eyes burned with unconditional love as he stared at Sakumo who innocently stared at the ground. "Sakumo...you must be tired.." He mumbled. Obito decided to teleport to Kabutos place to let the baby sleep.

At the front entrance into the cave Obito sighed as he walked inside. Kabuto was down the hallway filled with different doors. Obito was an expert at finding him as he walked into the experiment room of his test subjects. "So you're back..." Kabuto called, not looking back. Obito glanced down and felt depressed again at the thought of Kakashi, "yeah...Sakumo needs some sleep and so do I." He walked off with that.

Sakumo fell quickly asleep. Obito held him so close and caressed his baby thin white and soft hair. Thinking of Kakashi. "Kakashi...I'm coming back just you wait..." Obito clenched the bed tighter, eyes burning with tears. He knew he had to kill Kabuto before the leaf finds out of his betrayel all for the baby. Obito snuck out of the bed and stood staring at the mirror. "If I go full battle with him...what if the baby gets hurt...what if he holds Sakumo hostage...?" His mind thought. Obito bit his lip and looked back with trembling eyes. "Sakumo. I'll make this quick. You won't be involved." And grabbed a Kunai to the door.

Obito teleported to Kabutos medicine room, replacing his personal pills with a highly effective drug in the same jar. The Uchiha knew he had to make this fight quick and easy for the baby's safety. 'Drugging him will be the first step' He thought as he placed the countless med pills he took out and shoved them in his pocket. Obito teleported back to his room with Sakumo. There he sat thinking of the next plan. 'Once he injests it, he won't be able to function' He smirked, 'He won't be able to speak.' 'Then...I'll make my move.' He lyed back down holding Sakumo tightly in his arms. Where Obito dreamt of home with Kakashi, a warm bright sunny afternoon in Konaha where the 3 are peaceful in their lives.

"Kakashi..." 

Back in Konaha, Kakashi spent the whole night searching for Obito. He knew for a fact that Obito wouldn't be wandering around the leaf so he left the village in pursuit of his lover. Not caring if the other jonin members were shocked to find out that they were gone. "Obito...Where are you?!" He desperately searched in the nearby village.

Next morning at 5 am, Kakashi went for his bed at a failed attempt search all morning. There he lyed helpless as he thoughts of failure began kicking in again, there he began to sob.

"Kabuto..." Obito gritted as he found the researcher with his glasses broken and completely stoned from last night. Kabuto began mumbling random words, he couldn't even speak english. "Hmph." Obito smirked, "Hurry up and die." as he did a fire sign and bomb blast dance in full power flew about to the man's body. Screaming in horror as the entire room was up in flames as well. Obito quickly left for the baby with tears in his eyes and a desperate, weak attempt for a smile.

I haven't felt the way I wanted in far to damn long
I still give into my vices knowing that it's wrong

Not even morphine...can kill the pain.

He almost felt like heaven was lifting his fears. There he crashed to the bedroom, losing composure as the Sakumo cries in fear. Obito got up quickly and carried the baby where he ran to the exit on the back of the cave. Obito grabbed a Kunai in hand just for safety as he left the burning cave. Sakumo kept crying in horrific fear and confusion. Obito held him tighter, "Shhhh..." He cooed as he smiled softly at his accomplishment. The early morning sun was a faint color as Obito walked down the road. "Now I know the leaf will be safe..." Obito spoke as he felt the morning breeze swift through his hair. Holding the baby tighter and patting his back as Sakumos cries silenced and fell sound asleep again. Obito began to take in how risky the situation he was in and how terrible he could have been for Sakumo. Still, managing to hold the baby, in beautiful morning light. His thoughts of what could have been horrific never occured. Obito glanced around the beautiful pathway surrounded by trees and tears formed in his eyes. He was so happy he began to sob as he walked.

"We have to go to a nearby village." Obitos mind spoke as he glanced around.

It took another 10 minutes until he managed to find a village. Walking into the foreign grounds he glanced all  around the people. It was a busy town this early in the morning? Obito glanced at the shops and entered one that looked like a grocery store. There he was welcomed by an old lady carrying 4 heavy bags. "Need some help?" He offered. The lady blinked and smiled, very pleased. She nodded no and exited the shop. Obito placed his goggles over his eyes as he walked inside. "Great...it's even more busy..." Obito pouted his lips. He went down an aisle providing baby food in tiny jars. He dropped countless kinds into his basket. Peach, mango, strawberry and many more. "Sakumo eats anything " He teased as he ran a finger over his baby's lips which drooled of saliva all over his vest. Obito smiled amusingly at that.

After purchasing the baby food Obito walked out and asked someone where are the hotels. With some guidance, Obito was finally able to arrive at a comfy bed and lyed beside Sakumo who was still sleeping. "When do you wanna eat Sakumo...?" He softly spoke as he caressed his face. Obito sighed and got off the bed to the window, hanging an arm out to feel the soft wind, the clouds began to color to a dark grey. It was beautiful. The sun was still shinning. Obito sighed as he sat down and leaned. Staring outside he thought about Kakashi. He shut his eyes as he cried, "I miss you so much..." He clenched his vest where his heart is and felt so much pain. "You must be so worried..." He thought.

Obito turned around to Sakumo who was still sleeping. Obito locked the door and left. "I can't bring Sakumo along...he needs his sleep..." Obito thought as he walked down the stairs. "I'm going to check if that bastard is dead."

Obito blinked in confusion as he found countless villagers with fire extinguisher. One hitting his shoulder as they passed by Obito glanced back then quickly at the scorched cave burned down. "Somebody died.." One old woman said. Obito bit his bottom lip, "You should get going" the lady added and kept walking. Obito turned around and ran off to the village.

Obito found Sakumo lying and staring at the ceiling. "Sakumo...! You're awake?" He giggled. Obito felt so delighted with his baby boy. "Let's eat" He spoke childishly. Obito sat back on the bed with his legs crossed and Sakumo between his legs. Spoonfeeding the hungry baby. He watched in amusement as the baby ate it, trying to decipher the flavor. Obito chuckled a raspy laugh and gave him another. The baby wouldn't take it. "You don't like this one?" He chuckled. Sakumo shot his head up with innocent eyes, staring through his father's goggles. Obito blinked innocently, "I have a lot more..." He softly teased at him. He smirked and tried a spoon, "It can't be that bad Sakumo." Obito swallowed the disgusting taste quickly, "Ugh that was pretty rough." He giggled as held the jar up glancing at it. He searched in the bag grabbing a strawberry flavor. "If Sakumo doesn't like wild berry then he might like strawberry." He played. The baby smiled big. "Obiooo!!" He called. Obitos eyes shot wide with pleasure, hoping they wouldn't tear up behind his orange lens. "Huh?! Sakumoooo?" He teased. Sakumo pointed at the new jar. "Yeeessss...! Sakumo wanna try???" He spoke in a funny manner. Sakumo stared innocently, Obito nodded yes to him. Sakumo nodded too. "Ah! My baby is a genius!" He kissed the baby's soft cheek before opening the jar. Obito wondered if the baby's intelligence was from Kakashi. He smiled all the while.

Sakumo enjoyed this flavor. And Obito enjoyed the moments he spends with Sakumo. The breeze coming through the window as the sky cleared up again and the suns light shined stronger. Sakumo was very hungry. Finishing 2 and a half jars of strawberry baby food. Obito spent another whole hour playing with Sakumo.

There was a knock on the door. Obito stared with wide eyes at Sakumo who stared wide eyes too. It was adorable. Obito tried not to laugh, "Who is it?" He played. He knew it'd be a hotel working because it is lunch time and he hasn't ordered anything. He got off the bed and went for the door.

It was Kakashi.
