"Do you guys have a glider?" I asked Ichi and Ruju during a warm sunny day. It was going to be one of the last I predicted, seeing as it was almost to the autumn months."Yeah," Ruju and Ichi spoke at the same time, giving each other a quick glance before giggling.
"Then," I paused, "We should go gliding, I know a good glide point too." I suggested as I ran upstairs to grab my glider. They both followed closely behind grinning like kits.
I placed my weapons on my bed and brushed off the thin layer of dust from my bat-like glider before hauling it onto my back.
Ichi's glider resembled that of a butterfly, with four round wings and a light pink tint to it. Ruju's was bright red, with a simple stitching pattern.
-
-"How much farther?" Ichi asked, a whimper hinting in her voice.
"Not much, just up this hill," I responded as we ran up the last stretch of the steep, gravely slope. I stood at the edge of the cliff, a smile stretching my face as both Ichi and Ruju gasped at the view ahead of them.
"Wow," Ichi breathed. We were just below the clouds, and there was nothing but air in front of us.
I pulled the glider off my back and opened its wings, locking them into place. "Time to glide," I said before jumping off the cliff, keeping my paws tightly on the handle of my glider.
I let myself fall straight down for several meters before flattening my glider, causing the wings to catch the air and pull me harshly upward. I pulled my body upwards and placed my feet onto the middle of the glider right below the handle. Turning my head back, I saw that Ruju and Ichi had jumped and started flying.
"This is amazing," Ichi screamed above the roar of the wind. "I've never been up this high before."
"We should go all the way around Hasla," Ruju commented, "It would be nice to see the whole area."
"Definitely," I agreed.

We were about halfway through Hasla when we started hearing animal cries. They didn't sound in distress though, it sounded happy. "What is that?" I asked no one in particular.
Ruju looked behind us, "I think it's that." I turned my head back and saw a pure white griffin flying above us. There were two Firran on it as well, both with jet black pelts that I could see from here.
The griffin flew down next to us, "Hey, how's it going?" A girl asked. She had dark brown hair down to the middle of her back and piercing blue eyes. The guy behind her had the same eyes and hair, but his was in dreads.
"Good, just out for an afternoon glide. My name's Hakumei. This is Ruju and Ichi."
"Nice to meet you, I'm Furaito and this is Kaze, he's my brother," Furaito said.
"Actually I'm her twin," Kaze corrected, "nice to meet you guys. Let's land down there, we can talk easier."
I nodded an agreement and angled my glider downward.

We sat at an empty cafe, the twins' griffin, Feza, sat on the stone ground with its wings stretched out. I was seated in a chair between Ruju and Ichi, while Kaze and Furaito sat across from us.
"So, how long have you guys been out of training?" I asked them, breaking the minor silence.
Kaze was the one who answered, "Only a few days. We were training over in Windscour, it's the only place where they had both master archers and necromancers." His eyes gazing briefly at all of us. "How about you three?"
"About a month now, I was up in Ynystere training in shadowplay." I answered. "It's where they took shadowplay apprentices in my tribe."
"Half a year." Ruju responded vaguely.
"Only a couple weeks, I was actually trained here in Hasla." Ichi said.
Kaze nodded before turning his attention to me, "What do you mean by tribe?"
"Well, I'm from Falcorth, and most of the Firran who live there live by old traditions and such, I'm surprised you don't know about it, seeing as you're a Firran yourself." I explained.
Furaito jumped into the conversation, "We were born and raised in Silent Forest, not many Firran live there. Neither do Harani for that matter." Kaze nodded with agreement.
"I see," there was a moment of silence before I spoke again, "Are either of you part of a guild?"
They both shook their heads no. "If you'd like, you could join us. We have a large house for the guild, and having you two join would allow us to register as an official guild."
Their faces lit up with large smiles, "we'd love to," Kaze answered for both of them.
"Great! Let's head back to Veroe and register."
