I was up before sunrise, today was the day we'd finally get our letter back saying The Firran Way was official, I could feel it. I stepped outside into the crisp morning air, and strained my eyes to examine the dark surroundings. No one else was awake, everything was still, peaceful. I took a deep breath, feeling the cold air run through my body and fill my lungs. It would be snowing soon, might already be in the north. I walked at a slow pace into town, covered by the warmth of thick cloth robes and a hood pulled over my head.

There was a letter waiting for me. I took it and thanked them quietly, sliding the envelope into my pocket. It was still early enough that the others wouldn't be awake yet. The sun was starting to peek over the lower parts of the mountains surrounding Hasla, and I could hear people in Veroe start to stir. The river was flowing steadily as I made my way down to the edge, dipping my feet in the still warm water while I sat. I leaned back into the grass, feeling the wet dew on my back and using my arms to rest my head on.

I must've dozed off because when I woke up the sun was high in the late morning sky. Jolting up onto my feet I made my way back to the house. Ruju was outside with a worried look plastered to his face. It turned to relief when he spotted me. "Sorry I was gone for so long, accidentally napped by the river." I apologized, smiling slightly.

"It's alright," he comforted, "Did they send the letter yet?"

Grinning widely, I pulled the letter out of my pocket, "Yep, I was waiting for you guys to wake up before opening it." We walked into the house, everyone was in the living room chatting like they've known each other for years. Their conversations stopped when they heard the door open.

"Did you get it?"

"Did they send it?"

"What took so long?"

"Are we an official guild yet?"

They pestered me with questions, sending one after another not even letting me answer. "Guys, guys," I calmed them down, "I got it, let's open it together." We sat in a circle, all of us acting like eager kittens. I examined the letter, the tan envelope had a wax stamp on it, Austera's official stamp. Pulling the envelope open, I slid out the letter. It was hand written in ink on quality paper, the writing looking like a Firran's, messy but flowing at the same time. I took a deep, calm breath and read it out loud.

"Greetings, Hakumei,

Your request to register as a guild has been accepted, we are happy to call The Firran Way a part of the Haranyan Alliance.

Sincerely, Guild Manager Ruben."

The group exploded with cheers, and everyone got dragged into a group hug. "Dinner is on me tonight, lads!" Kaze yelled over the celebrating.

We waited till the sun sank below the horizon, the moon taking its place in the sky next to the stars. The streets were dimly lit by lamps planted into the ground and lanterns hanging on buildings or sitting on windowsills. We walked to dinner in a group, all chatting and planning about what we'd do next. Ichi scanned the buildings for somewhere nice to eat, pointing excitedly to a smaller looking restaurant. It had plant life growing on the walls, and potted flowers and bushes surrounding the door. None of us even got a chance to walk in before Ichi was dragging us practically by our tails.

The waiter sat us at a rounded table, Ruju and Ichi claimed the seats next to me before anyone else had the chance. "I think we all deserve a victory wine, yes?" I asked the group. We agreed, and ordered our food along with the drinks.

"While we're waiting, we should plan a raid. There's this beast in southern Hasla, it's been a bother to the village people that live near it. But, there isn't a group strong enough to kill it yet. I think we could do it." I proposed to the rest of the guild. They were nodding and listening closely, "Ichi can keep us healed, her spells are powerful. Kaze could keep it in one spot, I've seen his necromancy and it's outstanding. Ruju will be on the front lines with me, and Furaito would be up higher somewhere, rocking her bow"

The plan seemed solid, we all thought it. "What about our pets?" Ichi asked.

"They can be up front too, attacking from behind. They're smaller and I don't want any of us, or them, getting killed doing this."

She nodded as our food came, stopping all conversation while we stuffed our faces in victory.
