Chapter Seven ~

(When Layla is 19)

I've been working for Rakel for a year now.  I'm 19 now, and still living the same since I've came to Rakel. All of the routines are the same each week,  but every Friday something different seems to happen.

Rakel still calls me a peasant but not as frequently. He is now 23. For his birthday, all he did was work, something I hated doing.

I really wanted him to get out and do something for once,  but as it seems, he never does.

He's still the heartless douche bag,  but he's let up.  I told him to give James and Gabe a raise and he did.  Of 50¢. At least it was something.

I actually haven't seen Tommy or Carmen since my eighteenth birthday, because I've been busy.

I'm a woman now,  and my brother is thirteen. He has grown so much. Carmen is still beautiful, with her gorgeous blonde hair.

Me?  I'm doing fine. What, did you expect more? Rakel still gives me a hard time with everything and it doesn't help that he has a new lady friend. I wasn't jealous,  it was just hard to do everything because she seemed to always get in the way.

Her name was Brianne . Blonde hair, long legs, nasty attitude towards me.  She boiled my blood even more than Rakel nowadays.

She was 25, which I was surprised to hear about.  I guess Rakel likes them older than him.  Such a shame. I mean,  not a shame at all. She was taller than me, almost at Rakel's height even.  She told me she was a Brazilian model and she sure did look like one.

My relationship with James and Gabe has grown tremendously. If I ever need to go to someone,  I'll go to Gabe.  If I ever need to talk to someone about Rakel,  I'll go to James. 

I've taking a very strong liking to Gabe.  He was 24, one year older than Rakel but he still looked really young,  other than the stubble on his face.

You could say I've taken a liking to most of my life now.

(In the present)

It was the day I was going to visit Tommy and Carmen again since I haven't seen them in so long. Of course since I had a contract signed to Rakel,  he had to come with me.  He said that if he didn't, he would be forced to dismiss me,  even though that was a lie.

We were currently in the limo and guess who was with us? "Oh,  lighten up honey,  you know it's not the first time you've seen us making out." Brianne whispered into my ear after she got through with kissing Rakel.

How dare she. But it was true.  I had caught them making out once more on his bed. She was on top of him,  he was under her.  And I just stood there until they caught me looking at them.  I was speechless.

And ever since then,  she's always mocked me about how it was her and not me with him.  It's not like I wanted him to be with me anyways...

We had arrived at the house that they lived in.  I had gotten Rakel to let me wear something else besides the maiden's outfit. I had on a regular pair of skinny jeans and a cute light blue sweater, UGG boots, and a panda hat with little panda ears at the top.  It was almost winter and I was prepared.

Brianne though,  was wearing summer shorts with flowers on them and a bright yellow tank top. 

I felt bad for her. Rakel was just in his simple suit that he always seemed to wear, except I had gotten him to wear one of my scarves just in case he got a little cold.
