Never Once A Paradise ~
Chapter Eight ~
___________________"I can work Sir, I'm healed enough." It was the day after I got beat up by Brianne, Rakel's girlfriend, but he nor anyone else didn't know that.
"No, you are not." He glared at me, his eyes cold. "Yes I am. I'm completely strong. I slapped you, didn't I? Do you need another demonstration?" I had annoyance in my attitude. "Do not speak to me like that you peasant."
I glared daggers at him. And just when I thought he was becoming a nicer douche. "You're so kind, Sir. " I spoke through gritted teeth, sarcasm laced in my tone. He rolled his eyes, clearly as annoyed as I was. "Thank you peasant." He spit.
I almost reached over the table that was dividing us and choked him. Over the year, I had bumped up my job, so not only was I cleaning the mansion, but I was also working with Rakel about business things. So basically I was his personal assistant, who just cleaned.
Being his personal assistant meant I had to be with him all day and actually couldn't leave his side. And that was a big problem since she was in his life.
I shuddered when I thought about what she did to me. I didn't even do anything to her, so what made her flip out.
While I was thinking I didn't hear the door open. Gabe walked in and bowed to Rakel. Or I thought it was Rakel until he reached a hand out to me.
He spoke in Spanish because he clearly didn't want me to know what he was saying.
Rakel responded by speaking in Spanish loudly, getting out of his seat, clearly not too fond of what Gabe just said.
Gabe kept his ground though and spoke extremely fast, to me it all sounded like gibberish but to Rakel, it looked like he was taken back. His eyes were extremely cold and showed no sign of emotion.
He sat back down but his eyes still showed blank emotion and looked cold as ice. He looked at me and back to Gabe. "Sí moy bein." He said as he clenched his fists under the table. He wasn't as slick as he thought he was.
I looked over to Gabe who was looking intensely at me.
"I need to know if you would be willing to go out with me for dinner."
I saw Rakel shift and I turned my head towards him. He looked at me smugly and seemed to not even care, not how he looked just a few minutes ago.I turned back to Gabe and nodded my head. He smiled with delight and took the outside of my hand and kissed it. "May I pick you up at eight."
He then said something to Rakel, Rakel then nodded and Gabe left the room.
I guess I was going on a date with Gabe then.
I sat back down and looked at Rakel who actually got a book or and started reading. On my side of the desk, all I had were two pens, a stack of blank white paper, and an eraser which wouldn't even be necessary because I don't have a pencil.
"What did he say?" I say to him, the question just rolling off of my tongue. He just continued to read in his book. I thought I wasn't loud enough. "What did he say!?" He put his book down and glared at me. "Why don't you sit over there and be quiet?" He asks, probably thinking that I I didn't know it was rhetorical. "Why don't you answer my questions?"
I glared back at him. His nose flared up. "How are you supposed to speak to me?" His voice was low and dangerous, the one he used when I first met him, the one I felt afraid of. "Sir." I rolled my eyes and his fist banged on the table, echoing through the room, making me jump.
