//This one is going to be heartbreaking... Song on the side is Piano Man by Billy Joel... I recommend that you listen to it//

"Get your lazy ass up!!" She groaned shaking my shoulders. I opened my eyes lazily and rubbed the sleep from them.

"Kat... Please, I don't wanna." I moaned reaching blindly for her to pull her back to me.

"You are so lazy." She said. Even with my closed eyes I could see her standing there beside me with her arms crossed. Her ebony black hair pulled up into a ponytail and her running clothes on. She would have her hands crossed over her chest and her head would be shaking to end the world.

"C'mon, you knew that before we got married. 5 more minutes?" I begged opening my eyes and shifting to lay on my side facing her. I reached my hand out and placed it on her wrist rubbing her skin softly with a pleading look in my eyes.

"5 minutes Kingston and then I'm leaving without you." She smiled and crawled into bed next to me. I immediately wrapped my arm around her waist and pulled her tight to me.

"I love you." I said nuzzling my chin in her neck.

"I love you too..." She whispered before tangling her fingers in mine and jerking my hand suddenly. I always forgot how strong she was. I fell on the floor and she erupted in laughter. "Now get up."

"Okay, okay... I surrender!" I said lifting my hands in the air. I laughed and got up to change into running clothes. By the time I got into the kitchen she was trying her shoes and stretching out her long limbs. I joined her on the carpet and we warmed up for our run.

"How far do you want to do today?" She asked me.

"The distance back to our bed..." I mumbled.

"Can you be serious this one time?" She said with a chuckle.

"The distance back to our bed!" I said like a news anchor.

"I'm going to kill you..."

"No you won't. You love me too much." I leaned over and placed a kiss on her forehead. She scoffed and got up before grabbing her water bottle from the kitchen counter. "Katherine?"

"Yes Kingston." She responded trying not to laugh.

"Can you help me up?"

"Oh my god you are so fracking lazy!" She exclaimed, but nevertheless coming over to help me get up.

"It's one of my best qualities." I said linking my fingers with hers and we walked out of the house together.

"Ready?" She asked pressing a button on her watch. I nodded my head and she took off quickly putting in one of her headphones. She always listened to the same playlist; full of oldies... Especially the Beatles and Billy Joel. She loved the classics. We did this every morning, an early run and then breakfast at the diner in our small town. She took her spot on the outside of the bike lane like she always did much to my dismay and we ran to the sound of our own breath and the pounding of our shoes on the pavement. We ran on the street and finally onto a deserted highway where we always reached out 2.5 mile mark before we headed back to town. She looked at her watch and it beeped signaling that we had reached the turning point. She looked out into the street and crossed sprinting to the other side before falling back into her pace. I followed quickly behind and we got back into the rhythm of our steps. I focused my gaze on the pavement in front of me and lost myself in the strain of my legs and the burn in my lungs. I looked up and glanced at Kat. She always lost herself completely during a run; you could see the blankness in her eyes, whether she was thinking about her work, or making dinner for that night it was almost impossible to distract her from the road ahead of her. I heard the squealing of tires and the rusted sound of brakes before I could register what was happening. I heard her scream and push me into the bushes on the side of the road. I hit my head on a rock and everything went fuzzy for a moment, and then the blackness faded in.
