Chapter 9

(Friendly Sparring)

Lucas took Tori everywhere she wanted to go. They’d helped Teresa pick out a puppy in the morning and then headed off to see a few other places that had been special to Tori and River before pulling up to the Gymnasium Tori was now used to training with her father in.

“Thank you,” Tori said getting out of the Limo with her small gym bag. Lucas smiled and nodded at her. “Come on,” she said and taking his hand she led him into the steal building.

“Brings back some memories doesn’t it?” Ryker commented to the blonde enforcer.

“Yeah. Some of them painful memories,” Justin commented. Ryker chuckled and the two headed inside.

“You two going to join us?” Warner said seeing the two men he’d trained enter the gym and come up next to the High Prince. He watched with hidden amusement as the two men looked at each other a little unsure of how to answer.

“Do we have a choice?” Justin asked hesitantly.

“You’re going to be watching my daughter,” Warner said calmly.

“We’ll get our stuff,” Ryker said. “Unless you object,” He said looking over at his charge.

“By all means,” Lucas said. The prince chuckled at the look in Justin’s eyes before the enforcer went to walk away.

“You’re welcome to join us as well,” Warner said looking at the man his daughter would soon marry. “A little birdie told me you’ve had a couple of lessons.”

“Alright, but I don’t have the training they do,” Lucas said.

“Nor do I expect you to,” Warner assured him. “I won’t go too hard on you.”

Lucas chuckled before saying, “Will I be able to walk tomorrow?”

“You have a long flight to recover on,” The Enforcer replied.

Lucas nodded. “I’ll grab my bag,” he said and headed back out to the car.

Tori came out of the locker room and was surprised to not see Lucas or his enforcers anywhere in sight. The blonde woman looked at her father questioningly.

Warner didn’t address her and instead walked over to the small stage he gave directions from. “Listen up,” he said addressing the enforcers that were gathered for training. “Ryker, Justin and High Prince Lucas will be joining us.”

“What? Lucas?” Tori said notably surprised.

“Go easy on Lucas he’s only had a couple of lessons,” Warner instructed.

“He’s really going to…” Harvey fell silent as he saw the three men enter the building and then enter the men’s locker room. “Guess so.”
